Rona è arrivata da noi dopo che il suo proprietario è diventato gravemente malato e non è più in grado di prendercure di lei o degli altri due cani in casa. Quando Rona è arrivata per la prima volta, era in calore, quindi abbiamo dovuto tenerla separata dagli altri. La maggior parte delle nostre gabbie sono miste e anche se molti dei nostri cani sono castrati, non è ideale mescolarli con una femmina in calore. Ci è stato anche detto che potrebbe essere incerta intorno agli altri cani, quindi abbiamo ritenuto meglio tenerla sola fino a dopo la castrazione. Era un po' incerta quando è arrivata nei recinti, ma è migliorata molto da allora. Ora Rona è una ragazza felice e sicura che ti saluta sempre con la coda che scodinzola e è più che contenta di godersi un abbraccio. Può ancora essere un po' incerta con nuovi cani e potrebbe mostrare alcuni comportamenti dominanti, quindi le presentazioni devono essere lente e attente. D'altro canto, da quando è stata castrata, ha condiviso la sua gabbia con diversi cani e si è comportata bene con tutti. Rona è completamente vaccinata, castrata, microchippata e ha un passaporto. Ha anche effettuato un test del sangue completo, viene trattata regolarmente contro pulci, zecche e vermi e è in prevenzione contro la filariosi.

Rona came to us after her owner became seriously ill and was no longer able to care for her or the two other dogs in the home. When Rona first arrived, she was in season, so we had to keep her separate from the others. Most of our pens are mixed, and even though many of our dogs are neutered, it’s not ideal to mix them with a female in season. We were also told that she could be unsure around other dogs, so we felt it best to keep her on her own until after her spay. She was a little uncertain when she first arrived at the kennels, but she’s come a long way since then. Now, Rona is a happy, confident girl who always greets you with a wagging tail and is more than happy to enjoy a cuddle. She can still be a bit unsure with new dogs and may show some dominant behaviour, so slow, careful introductions are important. That said, since she was sterilized she has share her pen with different dogs and has got along well with all of them. Rona is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and has a passport. She’s also had a full blood test, is regularly treated for fleas, ticks, and worms, and is on heartworm prevention.
