WAGNER arrived under our care after a huge trauma related to direct physical abuse. The person who should have been his protector became his tormentor. As a result of these horrific experiences, WAGNER is today a deeply fearful dog who still carries the weight of the experienced nightmare within. This is a dog that needs time and understanding. Once he gets to know a person and feels safe, he fully accepts his caregiver and can build a relationship with them. However, in the presence of strangers, he can be strongly withdrawn, and in situations that remind him of danger, he may react defensively. WAGNER is not an aggressive dog without reason – his reactions are solely due to a panic-stricken fear of being re-injured. What does WAGNER need and what kind of home are we looking for? Mature age:
