Xena è arrivata da noi paralizzata sulla parte posteriore. Xena è stata colpita da un'auto a Tecuci e lasciata in strada, paralizzata sulla parte posteriore. Ha tenuto duro nel miglior modo possibile, dietro tutte le auto che rallentavano, desiderosa di una carezza e forse, spaventata, di una certa protezione. Un nostro amico l'ha vista, si è fermato, l'ha raccolta e l'ha portata da noi. Da allora, Xena era al sicuro nelle nostre mani. Non solo nelle nostre, ma del rifugio, ma di tutti noi, della comunità Speranța. Xena ha rapidamente convinto noi che voleva vivere. Le abbiamo dato il nome Xena perché è una combattente. Non necessariamente per la sua vita, perché una vita senza gambe non è esattamente desiderabile. Xena, come ogni cane, combatte soprattutto per l'amore. Intervento chirurgico riuscito nel rifugio Speranța. Abbiamo iniziato con una risonanza magnetica, cruciale per il destino di Xena. Secondo le stime dei nostri veterinari, c'era una piccola possibilità che Xena potesse ancora recuperare. Siamo stati estremamente felici quando la risonanza magnetica ha confermato le stime dei veterinari! Xena era davvero coraggiosa e meritava veramente il suo nome. Così ci siamo mobilitati. Xena è stata sottoposta con successo a un intervento chirurgico nel nostro rifugio dal dottor Diana Chirilă. Non poteva ancora camminare, ma ormai eravamo sicuri che dipendeva da lei. Per essere più precisi, non aveva una midolla spinale recisa né fratture spostate che premevano sulla sua midolla, quindi tutto dipendeva dalla sua volontà di lavorare nella nostra clinica di fisioterapia. La nostra comunità l'ha supportata moralmente attraverso pensieri positivi o preghiere, ma anche materialmente attraverso donazioni. Xena ha iniziato bene il suo allenamento per camminare. Perché i miracoli accadono, ma mai di punto in bianco, mai senza costanza, mai senza sapere cosa si sta facendo, e ovviamente mai senza persone che li fanno accadere. Come giustamente osservò Aristotele nei vecchi tempi, qualsiasi cosa si muova nell'universo non si muove da sola, ma deve avere qualcuno o qualcosa che la muove. Così abbiamo continuato a muovere il mondo degli animali senza padrone per il meglio, questa volta attraverso sessioni lunghe di kinesiologia e fisioterapia. Xena ha beneficiato dell'incoraggiamento della comunità. Perché, vedete, Xena non le piace l'acqua. L'acqua è un elemento centrale nella nostra clinica di fisioterapia. Camminare sulla passerella, attraverso il liquido, stimola la postura corretta e la funzione muscolare e ha già salvato alcuni cuccioli. Avrebbe anche salvato Xena, anche se sapevamo che sarebbe rimasta abbastanza brontolona durante tutto il processo. E il sole è uscito nell'angolo di Xena! Due mesi dopo che l'abbiamo trovata strisciare su due zampe dopo ogni auto che passava, Xena si è rialzata sulle sue due zampe. Sono stati mesi difficili, durante i quali ha subito un intervento chirurgico importante alla pelvi e alle gambe posteriori, oltre a numerose sedute di fisioterapia. Ma Xena ha lottato e vinto, con il nostro aiuto, ma soprattutto con il vostro. E per rendere la storia davvero felice, dopo essersi completamente ripresa, Xena è stata adottata. E da quanto felicità leggiamo nelle foto, abbiamo piena fiducia che questa relazione, a differenza di altre, durerà fino al naturale e inevitabile fine. Vi auguriamo tanta felicità e siamo grati a tutti, i donatori e Xena in particolare, che questo miracolo sia avvenuto molto più velocemente di quanto immaginassimo possibile. Xena came to us paralyzed on her backside Xena was hit by a car in Tecuci and left on the road, paralysed on her back. She held on as best she could, behind all the slowing cars, eager for a pat and, frightened, perhaps a little protection. A friend of ours saw her, stopped, picked her up and brought her to us. From now on, Xena was safe in our hands. Not just ours, the shelter's, but all of ours, the Speranța community. Xena quickly convinced us that she wanted to live. We called her Xena because she's a fighter. Not fighting for her life necessarily, because a life without legs isn't exactly desirable. Xena, like any dog, fights mostly for love. Successful surgery in Speranța shelter We started with an MRI, crucial to Xena's fate. According to our veterinarians' estimates, there was a small chance that Xena could still recover. We were extremely happy when the MRI confirmed the vets' estimates! Xena really was brave and really deserved her name. So we mobilized too. Xena was successfully operated on in our shelter by Dr. Diana Chirilă. She couldn't walk yet, but by now we were sure it was up to her. To be more precise, she had no severed spinal cord and no displaced fractures pressing on her spine, so it all depended on her willingness to work in our physiotherapy clinic. Our community supported her both morally through good thoughts or prayers, but also physically through donations. Xena has made a promising start to her walking training. Because miracles happen, but never overnight, never without consistency, never without knowing what you're doing, and of course never without people to make it happen. As Aristotle rightly observed in the old days, whatever moves in the universe does not move by itself, but must have someone or something moving it. So we have continued to move the masterless animal world for the better, this time through long sessions of kinesiology and physiotherapy. Xena has benefited from the community's encouragement. Because, you see, Xena didn't like water. Water is a central element in our physiotherapy clinic. Walking on the treadmill, through the liquid, stimulates proper posture and muscle function and has already saved a few puppies. It was also going to save Xena, even though we knew she would remain quite sulky throughout the whole process. And the sun came out on Xena's alley! Two months after we found her crawling in two paws after every passing car, Xena stood again on her own two feet. It's been a tough few months, during which she went through major surgery on her pelvis and hind legs, plus countless physiotherapy sessions. But Xena fought and won, with our help, but especially yours. And to make for a truly happy ending to the story, after making a full recovery, Xena was adopted. And from how much happiness we read in the pictures, we have every confidence that this relationship, unlike others, will last until the inevitable and natural end. We wish them much happiness and we are grateful to everyone, the donors and Xena especially, that this miracle happened much faster than we imagined possible.
