Meet Kai Say hello to Kai, our handsome new boy who has just arrived with us and is currently settling into kennels. Kai is a male Akita, estimated to be between 3–5 years old. He’s an absolutely stunning looking dog and we’re looking forward to getting to know him better over the coming days. But behind those good looks is a boy who has clearly been through a lot. Found straying and with no microchip, we know nothing about where he’s come from or what he’s experienced… only that no one came forward for him and his time was up at the pound. Despite everything, Kai has shown us a friendly nature. He’s been kind with our team, quietly taking everything in as he begins to adjust to a completely new and unfamiliar environment. Sadly, Kai is also now battling kennel cough, so right now he needs time, patience, and space to rest and recover, so we’re giving him the time he needs to decompress and feel safe again. At this stage, Kai is pending full assessment and will be available for adoption once he’s had a chance to settle in and we’ve learned more about him. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as we get to know this lovely boy. We know there is a special home out there for him when the time comes, someone who will see beyond his circumstances and give him the love and stability he deserves.
