Zinc è una dolce e mite vecchietta che ci è arrivata da un allevatore. Purtroppo Zinc è arrivata da noi con una vista molto limitata poiché aveva cataratta nell'occhio sinistro e non vedeva affatto nell'occhio destro. Dopo aver visitato uno specialista, Zinc ha sottoposto un intervento per la cataratta, e aver ripreso a vedere ha fatto una grande differenza nella sua vita. Anche se era sempre una piccola cane felice con la coda che si muoveva continuamente anche senza vista, ora è molto più sicura e curiosa verso il mondo intorno a lei, esplorando felicemente i suoi dintorni, conoscendo nuove persone e cani, e perfino godendosi brevi passeggiate sulla spiaggia con la sua famiglia di accoglienza e il loro cane. Zinc ha avuto in precedenza un'ernia addominale riparata con successo e ha avuto estratti due denti. Ha pochi denti rimanenti e quindi potrebbe beneficiare di una dieta più morbida a seconda del comfort durante il mangiare. Ha ricevuto inoltre trattamento per la pelle pruriginosa, che ora è migliorata molto, la sua pelle è in ottime condizioni e il suo pelo è ora morbido e lucido. Zinc vive in una casa di accoglienza amabile dove si è adattata perfettamente. Nonostante non avesse mai vissuto in una casa prima di arrivare da noi, Zinc ha preso il vivere in casa come un cigno all'acqua e si è mantenuta pulita giorno e notte con regolari uscite nel giardino. Secondo la sua mamma di accoglienza, Zinc ama veramente esplorare e partecipare alla vita quotidiana. È molto motivata dal cibo e sarà felice di sorvegliare qualsiasi attività in cucina nel caso qualcosa di buono possa apparire. In effetti ama il cibo e i premi, davvero qualsiasi cosa commestibile! Le piace anche girovagare nel giardino, tenere d'occhio chi fa i lavori di giardinaggio e a volte scatenarsi in giochi di corsa veloci dentro casa o nel giardino, comportandosi più come un cucciolo che come un cane anziano. Zinc si intende molto bene con altri cani e sarebbe più felice vivendo con compagni canini amichevoli di qualsiasi taglia o razza. Le piace conoscere altri cani fuori e è comoda nel condividere il suo spazio, purché siano gentili e tolleranti. Oltre al cibo, il suo assoluto preferito è il contatto umano. Cerca attivamente abbracci e ti farà sapere che vuole essere sollevata facendo delicatamente le zampette sulle tue gambe. Adora unirsi alle sue persone sul divano la sera e accetta volentieri gli abbracci anche dai visitatori. Zinc è estremamente facile da gestire e davvero non ha un brutto osso nel corpo, tutti quelli che la incontrano cadono un po' innamorati di lei. Zinc è un'anima dolce e tenera che cerca una casa calma e tranquilla dove può godersi i suoi anni d'oro circondata da amore, comfort e abbracci. Pur essendo un cane anziano, ora ha una nuova splendida vita e la sua coda raramente smette di muoversi. Chiunque consideri l'adozione di Zinc deve essere pronto a proseguire la routine delle gocce oculari e a partecipare a occasionali appuntamenti di controllo con uno specialista degli occhi per monitorare e proteggere il suo occhio residuo. Si prega di notare che questo occhio non sarà coperto dall'assicurazione. Zinc diventerà un compagno devoto e affettuoso per qualcuno con un grande cuore e una casa piena di amore. Zinc is a truly sweet and gentle older lady who came to us from a breeder. Sadly, Zinc arrived to us with very limited vision as she had cataracts in her left eye and no sight in her right eye. After visiting a specialist, Zinc underwent cataract surgery, and having some sight again has made a wonderful difference to her life. While she was always a happy, waggy-tailed little dog even without vision, she is now much more confident and curious about the world around her, happily exploring her surroundings, meeting new people and dogs, and even enjoying short walks along the beach with her foster family and their dog. Zinc has previously had an abdominal hernia successfully repaired and has had two teeth extracted. She has very few teeth remaining and therefore may benefit from a softer diet depending on her comfort when eating. She also previously received treatment for itchy skin, which has now improved greatly, her skin is in very good condition and her coat is now soft and shiny. Zinc is in a loving foster home where she has settled in beautifully. Despite having never lived in a home before arriving with us, Zinc took to home life like a duck to water and has remained clean both day and night with regular trips into the garden. According to her foster mummy, Zinc absolutely loves exploring and being involved in daily life. She is very food-motivated and will happily supervise any activity in the kitchen in the hope that something tasty might appear. In fact, she loves food and treats, really anything edible! She also enjoys pottering around the garden, keeping an eye on anyone doing the gardening, and will occasionally burst into playful zoomies around the house or garden, acting more like a puppy than a senior dog. Zinc gets on very well with other dogs and would be happiest living with dog-friendly companions of any size or breed. She enjoys meeting other dogs out and about and is comfortable sharing her space, as long as they are kind and tolerant. Other than food, Zinc’s absolute favourite thing is human contact. She actively seeks out cuddles and will let you know she wants to be picked up by gently pawing at your legs. She loves joining her people on the sofa in the evenings and happily accepts cuddles from visitors too. Zinc is incredibly easy to handle and truly doesn’t have a bad bone in her body, everyone who meets her falls a little bit in love with her. Zinc is a gentle, loving soul who is looking for a calm and quiet home where she can enjoy her golden years surrounded by love, comfort, and cuddles. Whilst she is an older dog, she now has a wonderful new lease of life and her tail rarely stops wagging. Anyone considering adopting Zinc must be prepared to continue her eye drop routine and attend occasional follow-up appointments with an eye specialist to monitor and protect her remaining eye. Please note that this eye would not be covered by insurance. Zinc will make a devoted and affectionate companion for someone with a big heart and a loving home. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
