Alice is een mooie meid die bij ons is gekomen van een fokker om haar eindhuis te vinden. Toen ze voor het eerst hier aankwam, vond ze alles om haar heen ongelooflijk overweldigend en was ze een erg nervouse kleine meid. Echter, sinds ze zich heeft geïntegreerd in de hondenzorg, maakt Alice zulke geweldige voortgang en begint ze langzaam om ons de liefdevolle en speelse meid te laten zien die ze echt is. Ze wordt nu opgewonden wanneer ze haar kooi-moeder ziet en doet de leukste kleine draaietjes als ze weet dat haar eten komt, ze kan haar blijdschap gewoon niet beheersen! Ze houdt ook absoluut van spelen met haar kooi-vrienden in de tuin, en we zien al gedeeltelijk haar binnenste puppy. Alice heeft zelfs geleerd om achter een bal aan te lopen en soms pakt ze hem op en draagt hij trots rond, wat een genot is om te zien omdat haar zelfvertrouwen verder groeit. Hoewel Alice er goed mee omgaat met mensen die ze kent en vertrouwt, blijft ze nog steeds terughoudend tegen vreemden. Vanwege dit zal Alice heel geduldige, begrijpende adoptanten nodig hebben die gelukkig zijn met het geven van alle tijd en ruimte die ze nodig heeft om vertrouwen op te bouwen en op haar eigen tempo in te passen. Alice zoekt naar een rustige en stille woningomgeving met minstens één vriendelijke, zelfverzekerde en vriendschappelijke hond die haar kan helpen bij het verkennen van de wereld en haar laten zien dat het leven niet zo eng hoeft te zijn. Ideaal zou dit een hond zijn rond haar leeftijd en grootte, want zij is een actieve meid en heeft zeker een speelse kant die wacht om te ontkiemen. Omdat Alice nog nooit in een woningomgeving heeft geleefd, zullen haar adoptanten haar moeten ondersteunen terwijl ze alles leert over het dagelijks leven, inclusief huis- en straathondentraining en het wennen aan aanraking en liefkozing. Ze vindt aanraking en behandeling soms nog steeds onzeker, dus ze zal adoptanten nodig hebben die zacht, mededogend en bereid zijn om op haar ritme te werken. Alice is een zoete meid die simpelweg op zoek is naar een liefdevol thuis waar ze verder haar zelfvertrouwen kan opbouwen, zich veilig en behaaglijk kan voelen en eindelijk al het geduld, de vriendelijkheid en de liefde kan ervaren die ze zo waarlijk verdient. Alice is bij ons gekomen met algemene alopecie over haar lichaam, wat zich met de tijd moet verbeteren en terugkomt. Ze had ook een cyste op haar laatste borstklier, die tijdens haar castratie is geperforeerd. Alice heeft een reisdocument. Deze hond kan worden opgenomen met een resident hond.

12-10-26 Alice originally came to us from a breeder a few months ago, she was adopted but sadly she struggled to settle into the home and would chose to stay in her crate and wouldn't move freely around the home and so her adopters made the decision to return her to our care after a short adoption. She went straight into a foster home and has now spent two months there settling in. Alice's foster family have worked patiently to help her build confidence at her own pace. A comfortable dog bed was gradually moved into the busier areas of the house, allowing Alice to become accustomed to everyday family life while still having a safe space of her own. Initially, Alice found it difficult to remain in a room if her fosterer moved or walked past her. This has improved enormously, and she will now often stay in the room, even when people move around her. In the evenings, she is relaxed enough to settle with the family while they watch television. Within the home she continues to be “hand shy” unless initiated by herself which is usually a quick lick of your hand. Out on walks, Alice is an absolute superstar! The moment she sees her lead, she transforms into an excited, happy girl, wagging her tail in anticipation. She is a pleasure to walk alongside her three canine companions, and this is where her confidence and loving nature really shine. When outside on her lead she allows gentle cuddles, takes treats from your hand and is increasingly able to relax and enjoy the world around her. She needs two walks a day to allow for this interaction time. Alice would love a calm, patient home with one friendly dog of a similar size to help her feel secure and with adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs. She has shown a particular preference for the Labrador in her foster home, whose companionship she clearly enjoys. Alice sometimes chooses to sleep away from her fosterers upstairs, but she has a charming way of persuading another dog to settle nearby in the hallway on their beds. Her need for canine companionship is clear, and having a trusted dog friend appears to bring her comfort. Alice is not looking for a home where everything has to happen at once. She needs a family willing to give her time, reassurance and the freedom to grow in confidence without pressure. She also needs the companionship of another suitable dog and a home where her family are available for regular, gentle interaction throughout the day. Alice has a continuing journey of discovering trust and the joy that comes with it . Alice arrived with a cyst on her last mammary gland, which was drained during her spay surgery. Alice has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
