Arthur is a lovely 4-year-old Boxer who came into our care after the sad loss of his owner. Since being in foster, he has settled beautifully into home life and has proven himself to be a wonderful house guest. He settles well overnight, enjoys relaxing in the home and has shown no destructive behaviours in foster care. Arthur walks nicely on lead and loves getting out for long sniffy walks with his people. He enjoys exploring the world around him and is happiest when spending quality time with his humans. While he does enjoy toys, he’s much more interested in people and affection than playing for long periods. Arthur is incredibly friendly with new people and greets everyone with a waggy tail and lots of enthusiasm. He can be a little excitable at times, but he responds well to gentle redirection and is eager to be involved in whatever his humans are doing. This handsome boy is looking for a loving family who can give him the companionship, reassurance and adventures he deserves. In return, Arthur promises lots of cuddles, loyalty and Boxer charm. Arthur is a super affectionate and friendly Boxer who is looking for an active home where he can be part of the family and enjoy lots of company. Human attention is Arthur’s favourite thing and he absolutely loves cuddles, fuss and giving sloppy kisses to everyone he meets! He would suit adopters who enjoy getting out and about for walks and adventures, while also giving him plenty of love and companionship at home. Arthur could live with sensible primary-school-aged children who are comfortable around large, enthusiastic dogs. He has previously lived with children and has always been described as gentle and friendly with them. Arthur enjoys the company of other dogs and has mixed well with dogs while in our care. He could live with another friendly dog pending successful introductions at the centre, although this isn’t essential for him. Arthur is looking for a home with an enclosed garden where he can relax and enjoy pottering around safely. Arthur can initially be a little unsure around things like getting into the car or during vet handling, but he relaxes quickly with reassurance, treats and gentle encouragement. He would benefit from adopters who are happy to continue building his confidence through positive training and support. Arthur has not been left alone much in foster yet, so he is looking for a home where leaving hours can be built up gradually over time.
