Asta werd achtergelaten door zijn familie die hem niet meer konden houden, omdat hij te groot geworden was. Volgens de oude vrouw van het gezin kreeg ze hem als pup en dacht dat het een Yorkshire zou worden. Nou, een Yorkshire is hij zeker niet, en zijn staart is groter dan die van een Yorkshire! Asta is een WOW-hond, hij ziet er zo indrukwekkend bijzonder uit, alsof hij een mengsel is van een wolfdog met een beetje Podenco Ratonero maar ook Dogo Argentino. We weten eigenlijk niet welke rassen hij heeft, maar hij ziet er zo mooi en machtig uit, alsof het een hond is die je in epische fantasy-films ziet lopen door de wilde bossen. Asta's schouderhoogte is 64 cm, en hoewel hij groot is, loopt hij heel goed aan de leiband, en blijft meestal rustig naast je lopen. Als hij een andere vriendelijke hond ziet, is hij blij om te groeten, zowel met aardige mannetjes als vrouwtjes, en is gepland om binnenkort samen te wonen met een groep vrouwtjes. Asta luistert goed naar zijn naam en komt naar je toe wanneer je hem roept. Hij houdt van hapjes, maar wordt er niet gek van, dus het is erg leuk om kleine oefeningen met hem te doen zonder dat hij te opgewonden raakt. Asta werd in het dierentehuis achtergelaten met een lange lijst van dingen die hij leuk vindt en hoe hij eerder in een huis heeft geleefd, maar wat de familie niet vermeldde, is dat Asta een onvolledige beenbijn heeft aan zijn rechter achterpoot. Hij leeft er prima mee, loopt en rent goed, maar om hem een lang gelukkig leven voor te stellen, adviseerde de traumatoloog een operatie aan de poot, gevolgd door fysiotherapie, zodat hij spieren kan ontwikkelen aan die kant van zijn lichaam en snel comfortabeler kan rennen. Het dierentehuis zal zich van zijn operatie en therapie ontfermen, hij is ook beschikbaar voor adoptie voordat de chirurgie plaatsvindt, dat is geen probleem.

Asta was left behind by his family who could not have him anymore, because he grew too big. Apparently the elderly woman of the family got him as a puppy and thought he will be a Yorkshire. Well, Yorkshire he is definitely not, and his tail is bigger than a Yorkshire! Asta is a WOW dog, he looks so stunningly special, like a mixture of a wolfdog with a bit of Podenco Ratonero but also Dogo Argentino. We don't really know what breed he is but he looks so beautiful and mighty, like a dog that you would see in epic fantasy movies, walking in the wild forests. Asta's shoulder height is 64cm, and even though he is big, he walks very well on the leash, and most of the time stays calmly walking by your side. When he sees another friendly kind dog, he is happy to say hello both to nice male and female dogs, and he is planned to live together with a group of females soon. Asta listens well to his name and comes to you when you call him. He does like snacks, but he does not get obsessed about them, so it is very nice to do little training exercise with him, without him getting overly excited. Asta was left in the shelter with a long list of things he likes and how he has lived before in a home, but what the family did not mention, is that Asta has a femur bone malformation on his back right leg. He lives well with it, walks and runs well, but to give him a long happy life ahead, traumatologist has advised to operate on the leg, which will be followed by physiotherapy, so he can grow muscles on that side of his body, and soon to run more comfortably. The shelter will be taking care of his operation and therapy, he is also available for adoption before the surgery, that is not a problem.
