EEN BIBLIOTHEEK OVER ME Persoonlijkheid: Bear is een ontspannen, rustige heer die door het leven gaat op een langzamer, zettere snelheid. Hij houdt van zijn mensen met zijn hele hart en zal graag zijn dag naast hen doorbrengen, elke druppel liefde opzuigend. Een goede wandeling, een comfortabele bed en zijn favoriete speelgoed in de buurt – dat is Bear’s ideale perfectie. Hij is net zo tevreden met dutjen de middag door als hij stil toekijkt hoe de wereld voorbijgaat. Als je op zoek bent naar een trouwe companion die rust, warmte en zachte blijdschap in je huis brengt, is Bear klaar om zijn hele hart te geven aan zijn eeuwige familie. Gedrag: Bear is een schatje door en door. Zijn favoriete ding ter wereld? Speelgoed – alle vormen, alle maten. Hij verzamelt ze als schatten, draagt ze trots en valt vaak in slaap met er nog een in zijn mond, volledig tevreden. Het is zijn kleine comfortritueel en het is charmant. Hij is een jongen met eenvoudige bevelen – "zit" en "poot" zijn zijn keuze – maar wat hij mist in vocabulaire, maakt hij wederom in charme. Bear is prachtig gemakkelijk te verzorgen en schoon te houden; hij biedt een poot, leunt in het moment en geniet van het zachte gewoel. Als je op zoek bent naar een rustige, liefdevolle companion die warmte en zachtheid in elke dag brengt, is Bear klaar om je huis te vullen met liefde... en misschien een paar speelgoedjes ook. Behoeften: Bear is een rustige, ongedwongen heer die bloeit in een gezellige thuis. Luide omgevingen en plotselinge geluiden overweldig hem, dus hij zoekt een familie die het leven op een zachtere snelheid leeft. Vanwege dit zou Bear het gelukkigst zijn in een huis met kinderen vanaf 10 jaar, waar hij kan ontspannen en zich veilig voelen. Een veilig tuin is een must voor deze zonneliefhebber. Hij houdt van rustige momenten buiten, de warmte opzuigen en het landschap passeren. Bear is kooigetraind en vindt comfort in zijn eigen gezellige ruimte. Dit verder te voeren in zijn nieuwe thuis helpt hem om zachter en zelfverzekerder te wennen. Hoewel hij beleefd is met honden buiten, prefereert Bear zijn huis en zijn mensen alleen. Hij is een soort jongen met één hond – trouw, geëngageerd en gelukkig als hij niet zijn familie’s liefde hoeft te delen. Voor de juiste familie zal Bear een stabiele, liefdevolle companion zijn die rust, warmte en zachte blijdschap in elke dag brengt. Wandelen/opheldering: Bear moet minstens één keer per dag lopen om zijn afvallen reis voort te zetten en zijn oefening routine voort te zetten. Bear draagt een halsband voor zijn wandelingen. Hij wordt opgewonden om uit te gaan & zal zitten terwijl jij zijn halsband aandoet. Geen problemen met onbekende honden omdat hij zo ontspannen is. Gepolijst: Ja, Bear is een erg goed jongetje. Reizen: Bear reist goed in de kofferbak van de auto. Vanwege dit accepteren wij aanvragen tot maximaal 4 uur van zijn huidige locatie. We raden aan om een stofbeugel of reiskist te gebruiken bij het vervoeren van honden. **Bij warmer weer is het belangrijk om de auto zo koud mogelijk te houden** Dingen om rekening mee te houden: Bear is zeer voedselgeleid en krijgt 3 keer per dag eten, dit moet doorgaan want Bear is gevoelig voor honger braak als hij lang zonder eten is. Bear heeft allergieën en moet op zijn huidige hypo-allergene dieet blijven. Bear is op een medicatie genaamd Zenrelia, sinds hij op deze medicatie is, is hij gebleken met minder hot spot uitspraken en pijnlijke plekken. Bear is vatbaar voor hot spots. Zijn obesitas heeft bijgedragen aan zijn luxaterende patella, hij is beoordeeld door onze dierenartsen die adviseren om hem op een dieetplan te houden en pijnbeheersing voort te zetten. Bear heeft op dit moment geen chirurgie nodig. Als het in de toekomst nodig is, is dit de verantwoordelijkheid van zijn adoptieve familie. Soms zijn bulldogs opgewonden om te spelen, maar realiseren zich hun grootte niet, dus jonge kinderen in het huis moeten worden bewaakt, omdat ze kunnen springen en kinderen kunnen duwen. Kinderen moeten begrijpen dat bulldogs tijd nodig hebben om zich in te laten en rustig en ongestoord kan rusten. Aanvullende informatie van Bear's tijdelijke familie: Iedereen die de kans had om Bear in hun leven te hebben, was extreem gelukkig. Vanaf het moment dat hij arriveerde is hij geen probleem geweest met zijn ontspannen houding. De liefde die hij geeft is werkelijk hartverwarmend en hij zou een geweldige toevoeging zijn aan elk huis dat een liefdevolle companion nodig heeft. Wie ook gelukkig genoeg is om zijn nieuwe eeuwige ouders te worden, zal direct verliefd worden op hem. Bear's adoptiekosten bedragen £400 en moet volledig betaald worden voordat hij naar huis gaat, wat ook onderworpen is aan een thuisscan. **Elke hond die door GBSR heropgevangen wordt, ontvangt Rescue Back-up voor zijn hele leven. En het admin team is beschikbaar voor advies en steun voor de hele levensduur van de hond via Messenger, dus de succesvolle aanklager moet een actief Facebook- en Messenger-account hebben voor de levensduur van de hond. Needs: Bear is a calm, laid‑back gentleman who blossoms in a peaceful home. Loud environments and sudden noises overwhelm him, so he’s looking for a family who live life at a softer pace. Because of this, Bear would be happiest in a home with children aged 10+, where he can relax and feel safe. A secure garden is a must for this sunshine‑loving boy. He adores spending quiet moments outdoors, soaking up the warmth and watching the world drift by. Bear is crate trained and finds comfort in having his own cosy space. Continuing this in his new home will help him settle gently and confidently. While he’s polite with dogs outside, Bear prefers his home and his humans all to himself. He’s a one‑dog household kind of boy — loyal, devoted, and happiest when he doesn’t have to share his family’s love. For the right family, Bear will be a steady, loving companion who brings peace, warmth, and gentle joy into every day. Walk/exercise: Bear must be walked at least once daily to continue his weight loss journey and continue his exercise routine. Bear wears a harness for his walks. He gets excited to go out & will sit while you put his harness on. No issues with unfamiliar dogs as he is so laid back. Toilet trained: Yes, Bear is a very good boy. Travel: Bear travels well in the boot of the car. Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from his current location. We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs. **TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE** Things to be aware of: Bear is very food driven & is fed 3 times daily, this must continue as Bear is prone to hunger vomiting when left for long periods without eating. Bear has allergies and must continue on his current Hypoallergenic diet. Bear is on an allergy medication called Zenrelia, since being on this medication Bear has thrived having less hot spot break outs and sore area’s. Bear will be prone to hotspots. Bear’s obesity contributed to his luxating patella, he has been assessed by our vets who recommend to keep him on a diet plan and to continue on pain management. Bear does not require surgery at this time. Should he need it in the future this would be the responsibility of his adopted family. Sometimes bulldogs are excited to play but don’t realise their size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as they have the potential to jump and knock children over. Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted. Additional information from Bear’s foster family: Anyone fortunate enough to have Bear in their lives would be extremely lucky indeed. From the moment he arrived he has been no trouble at all with his laid back attitude. The love that he gives is truly heart warming & he would be a great addition to any home in need of a loving companion. Whoever is fortunate to become his new forever parents will instantly fall in love with him Bear’s adoption donation fee is £400 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check. **Every dog rehomed by GBSR receives Rescue Back-up for their whole Life. All of our dogs are rehomed on a Backup for Life contract, and situations like this are exactly why this policy exists — to ensure our dogs always have a safe place to return to, no matter what life brings. Bear was rehomed in June 2021, and his family have loved and cared for him ever since, absolutely spoiling him rotten. He has been a cherished member of their family. Sadly, Bear suffers from allergies which have recently become increasingly difficult to manage, placing additional financial strain on the family following a breakdown at home. On top of this, Bear has a luxating patella that may require surgery. The combined costs and ongoing care were becoming overwhelming. His mum reached out to us for help and support, which we were more than happy to provide — including reviewing his current medication and veterinary notes. Unfortunately, despite everyone’s best efforts, it wasn’t enough. After many heartfelt conversations, his mum made the incredibly selfless decision to put Bear’s needs first and return him to our care. Bear was collected over the weekend by our wonderful volunteers, Dean and Victoria, who have truly stepped up and opened both their hearts and their home to him — along with any medical care he needs, now and in the future. We can’t thank you both enough. Please note that Bear has only just arrived in foster and is not yet available for adoption.
