Han älskar sina människor med hela sitt hjärta och vill gärna spendera dagen vid deras sida, druvande varje bit kärlek som erbjuds. En god promenad, en bekväm säng och hans favoritspel ladda – det är Bears idé om perfektion. Han är lika nöjd med att sova bort eftermiddagen som han är i tysthet när han tittar på världen gå förbi. Han älskar att spendera stilla moment ute, dra på varmen och titta på världen gå förbi. Bear är kasseutbildad och finner tröst i att ha sitt egna mysiga utrymme. Att fortsätta detta i hans nya hem hjälper honom att anpassa sig lugnt och självsäkert. Även om han är hövlig mot hundar utanför, föredrar Bear sitt hem och sina människor bara för sig själv. Han är en hund i en hundfamilj – lojal, engagerad och mest lycklig när han inte behöver dela sin familjs kärlek. För rätt familj blir Bear en stabil, kärleksfull vän som ger fred, varma och mjuka glädje varje dag. Gång/träning: Bear måste gå minst en gång per dag för att fortsätta sin viktminskningsresa och fortsätta sin träning. Bear bär en sadel under promenader. Bear har allergier och måste fortsätta på sin nuvarande hypoallergiska kost. Bear är på medicin kallad Zenrelia, sedan han började på denna medicin har han blivit bättre med mindre hotspots och smärtplaceringar. Bear kommer att vara benägen för hotspots. Hans obalans bidrog till hans luxaterande knäled, han har blivit utvärderad av våra veterinärer som rekommenderar att han ska hålla sig på en kostplan och fortsätta med smärtbehandling. Bear kräver inte operation just nu. Om han behöver det i framtiden kommer det att vara ansvar för hans adoptiva familj. Ibland är bulldoggar glada att spela men inser inte sin storlek, några unga barn i hemmet måste övervakas eftersom de har potential att hoppa och slå ner barnen. Barn måste förstå att bulldoggar behöver tid att anpassa sig och ha utrymme att vila lugnt och oavbrutet. Dogs: No. A BIT ABOUT ME Personality: Bear is a laid‑back, calm gentleman who moves through life at a slower, sweeter pace. He adores his humans with his whole heart and will happily spend his day by their side, soaking up every bit of affection offered. A good walk, a comfy bed, and his favourite toy close by — that’s Bear’s idea of perfection. He’s just as content snoozing the afternoon away as he is quietly watching the world go by. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who brings peace, warmth, and gentle joy into your home, Bear is ready to give his whole heart to his forever family. Behaviour: Bear is a sweetheart through and through. His favourite thing in the world? Toys — all shapes, all sizes. He gathers them like treasures, carries them proudly, and often falls asleep with one still in his mouth, completely content. It’s his little comfort ritual, and it’s adorable. He’s a boy of simple commands — “sit” and “paw” are his go‑to — but what he lacks in vocabulary, he makes up for in charm. Needs: Bear is a calm, laid‑back gentleman who blossoms in a peaceful home. Loud environments and sudden noises overwhelm him, so he’s looking for a family who live life at a softer pace. Because of this, Bear would be happiest in a home with children aged 10+, where he can relax and feel safe. A secure garden is a must for this sunshine‑loving boy. He adores spending quiet moments outdoors, soaking up the warmth and watching the world drift by. Bear is crate trained and finds comfort in having his own cosy space. Continuing this in his new home will help him settle gently and confidently. While he’s polite with dogs outside, Bear prefers his home and his humans all to himself. He’s a one‑dog household kind of boy — loyal, devoted, and happiest when he doesn’t have to share his family’s love. For the right family, Bear will be a steady, loving companion who brings peace, warmth, and gentle joy into every day. Walk/exercise: Bear must be walked at least once daily to continue his weight loss journey and continue his exercise routine. Bear wears a harness for his walks. He gets excited to go out & will sit while you put his harness on. No issues with unfamiliar dogs as he is so laid back. Toilet trained: Yes, Bear is a very good boy. Travel: Bear travels well in the boot of the car. Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from his current location. We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs. **TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE** Things to be aware of: Bear is very food driven & is fed 3 times daily, this must continue as Bear is prone to hunger vomiting when left for long periods without eating. Bear has allergies and must continue on his current Hypoallergenic diet. Bear is on an allergy medication called Zenrelia, since being on this medication Bear has thrived having less hot spot break outs and sore area’s. Bear will be prone to hotspots. Bear’s obesity contributed to his luxating patella, he has been assessed by our vets who recommend to keep him on a diet plan and to continue on pain management. Bear does not require surgery at this time. Should he need it in the future this would be the responsibility of his adopted family. Sometimes bulldogs are excited to play but don’t realise their size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as they have the potential to jump and knock children over. Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted. Additional information from Bear’s foster family: Anyone fortunate enough to have Bear in their lives would be extremely lucky indeed. From the moment he arrived he has been no trouble at all with his laid back attitude. The love that he gives is truly heart warming & he would be a great addition to any home in need of a loving companion. All of our dogs are rehomed on a Backup for Life contract, and situations like this are exactly why this policy exists — to ensure our dogs always have a safe place to return to, no matter what life brings. Bear was rehomed in June 2021, and his family have loved and cared for him ever since, absolutely spoiling him rotten. He has been a cherished member of their family. Sadly, Bear suffers from allergies which have recently become increasingly difficult to manage, placing additional financial strain on the family following a breakdown at home. On top of this, Bear has a luxating patella that may require surgery. The combined costs and ongoing care were becoming overwhelming. His mum reached out to us for help and support, which we were more than happy to provide — including reviewing his current medication and veterinary notes. Unfortunately, despite everyone’s best efforts, it wasn’t enough. After many heartfelt conversations, his mum made the incredibly selfless decision to put Bear’s needs first and return him to our care. Bear was collected over the weekend by our wonderful volunteers, Dean and Victoria, who have truly stepped up and opened both their hearts and their home to him — along with any medical care he needs, now and in the future. We can’t thank you both enough. Please note that Bear has only just arrived in foster and is not yet available for adoption.
