Lea was found abandoned by the roadside, lost and terrified, running back and forth with no idea whom to approach or where to hide. She had been left behind without a shred of remorse. She didn’t know what safety felt like, or gentleness, or a kind word. When she arrived to us, still frozen with fear, she looked around as if checking whether the danger had truly passed. And then, slowly, she began to trust — first cautiously, then with growing courage, as if the world had finally opened up for her. Today, Lea is calm, tender, and grateful — a dog who asks for just a little space, a little food, and far less love than she actually deserves.
