Lotty 2 is een midden grote kruising van ongeveer twee jaar oud. Het team ontmoette Lotty op hun trip naar Roxanas shelter in juni. Ze was een laatste aanvulling op de transportlijst nadat ze merkten dat ze ernstig gepest werd door haar hondenvriendjes wanneer alle honden blafden. Het besloot dat ze echt vrij van de lastige honden moest zijn en daarom snel toegevoegd. Lotty is een timide meisje die niet dapper is in nieuwe situaties. Ze leert steeds nieuwe dingen te accepteren en wordt moediger, maar zal nog steeds levenservaring nodig hebben in haar eeuwige huis. Zodra ze zich thuis voelt is ze knuiperig en liefdevol en erg leuk. Lotty heeft nodig een volwassen gezin met nog een andere hond in het huishouden als voltime resident. Ze is goed geweest met de veilige reddingskat, maar kan een nervieuzere kat jagen als ze zich op haar gemak voelt. Lotty 2 is geadopteerd door Norwich Norfolk. Als u geïnteresseerd bent, stuur dan of bel tussen 9:00 en 17:00 uur maandag tot vrijdag of tussen 9:00 en 16:00 uur zaterdag. Afschrijvingskosten voor adoptie: Vanaf 1 december 2025 zijn pups al gesteriliseerd en alle volwassen honden: £430. Niet-gesteriliseerde puppies op spay/neuter contracten: £530 (U ontvangt een terugbetaling van £100 zodra u ons bewijs van sterilisatie stuurt). Dit houdt uw hond veilig: uw nieuwe hond is zenuwachtig en vertrouwt u niet, en u weet niet welke situaties uw hond kunnen storen. Als uw hond in paniek raakt, is een slip lead de enige manier om te voorkomen dat uw hond ontsnapt (veel honden kunnen ontsnappen uit een halsband en/of borstels). Het zal minstens 3-6 maanden duren voordat uw hond zich heeft ingeleefd en u uw hond volledig kent (langer bij nerveuze honden). De slip lead moet altijd worden gebruikt gedurende deze inlevertijd. Zelfs naarmate uw hond zich heeft ingeleefd, is het veiligst om de slip lead te gebruiken in situaties waarin uw hond mogelijk bang wordt (bijvoorbeeld bezoeken aan nieuwe plekken, rond onbekende mensen, bij de dierenarts), en in situaties waar onverwachte triggers kunnen optreden (bijvoorbeeld rond vuurwerkavond). Nerveuze honden moeten altijd een slip lead dragen als back-up veiligheidsmaatregel. De slip lead is een veiligheidsapparaat en mag nooit worden gebruikt als trainingstool. Het gebruik van de leiband om druk uit te oefenen op de hond's nek is schadelijk. Als uw hond aan de leiband trekt, kunnen wij u adviseren over trainingstechnieken die schade vermijden. Zodra uw hond zich heeft ingeleefd, kunt u overwegen om een borstel (tezamen met de slip lead) te gebruiken als uw hond comfortabel is met het dragen ervan. De meeste borstels zijn niet ontsnappingsbestendig, maar borstels met een riem achter de ribben (bijv. Ruffwear Webmaster of Perfect Fit Harnesses) zijn veiliger. Lotty 2 is a medium sized crossbreed aged around two years old. The team met Lotty on their trip to Roxanas shelter back in June. She was a late addition to the transport list after they noticed that she was getting severely picked on by her pen mates every time the dogs all barked. It was decided she really needed to be free from the bullies and so she was swiftly added. Lotty is a timid girl initially who is not brave in new situations. She is learning to accept new things all the time and becoming braver but will still need to gain life experience in her forever home. Once comfortable she is cheeky and affectionate and great fun. Lotty will need an adult family with one other dog in the household as full time resident. She has been fine with the safe rescue cat but may chase a more nervy cat when she found her feet. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a crate. Fences and gates must be 5ft min & secure.
