Britney is een medium, grote, lab-type kruising van ongeveer 3 jaar oud. We ontmoetten Britney en haar moeder en zus toen we de Botosani openbare dierenasiel in Roemenië bezochten aan het begin van oktober vorig jaar. Alle drie reisden ze naar het VK om een nieuw leven te beginnen ver weg van de gruwelen van het asiel, en zowel moeder als zus wonen nu gelukkig in hun eeuwige thuis. Britney is een vriendelijke en liefdevolle meisje die eerst onderdanig en handvriendelijk is, maar als ze zich gevestigd heeft is ze extreem lief en houdt ze van aandacht en knuffels. Britney heeft nodig dat er in haar nieuwe huis een hond(en) aanwezig is. Ze zou ook goed kunnen zijn met zelfverzekerde katten en respectvolle kinderen van acht jaar of ouder. Britney werd opgevangen in Marlborough Wilshire. Als je geïnteresseerd bent, stuur dan een bericht of bel tussen 9:00 en 17:00 op maandag tot vrijdag of tussen 9:00 en 16:00 op zaterdag. Adoptiekosten vanaf 1 december 2025 zijn: Puppies al gesteriliseerd en alle volwassen honden: £430. Niet-gesteriliseerde puppies met een castratiecontract: £530 (je krijgt een terugbetaling van £100 zodra je ons bewijs van sterilisatie stuurt). Oudere honden (10+ jaren): £150–£250 (afhankelijk van leeftijd en individuele behoeften). Adoptiebeleid Bij het adopteren van een hond van Safe Rescue moet u altijd een sliplead gebruiken. Dit houdt uw hond veilig: uw nieuwe hond zal nerveus zijn en u niet vertrouwen, en u weet niet welke situaties uw hond misschien van streek zouden kunnen maken. Als uw hond in paniek raakt, is de sliplead de enige manier om te voorkomen dat uw hond ontsnapt (veel honden kunnen ontsnappen uit een halsband en/of vest). Het zal minstens 3-6 maanden duren voordat uw hond zich heeft ingeworteld en u uw hond volledig kent (langer voor nervieuze honden). De sliplead moet TOTAAL tijdens deze inwinningsperiode worden gebruikt. Zelfs nadat uw hond zich heeft ingeworteld, is het veiligst om de sliplead te gebruiken in situaties waarin uw hond mogelijk bang wordt (bijvoorbeeld bij bezoeken aan nieuwe plekken, rondom onbekende mensen, bij de dierenarts), en in situaties waarbij onverwachte triggers kunnen optreden (bijvoorbeeld rond bonfire night). Nerveuze honden moeten altijd een sliplead dragen als back-up veiligheidsmaatregel. De sliplead is een veiligheidsapparaat en mag NOOIT als oefenmiddel worden gebruikt. Het aanbrengen van druk op de nek van de hond via de leiband is schadelijk. Als uw hond aan de leiband trekt, kunnen we u adviseren over trainingstechnieken die geen schade veroorzaken. Zodra uw hond zich heeft ingeworteld, kunt u overwegen om een vest (tegenover de sliplead) te gebruiken als uw hond comfortabel is met het dragen ervan. Meeste vesten zijn niet ontsnappingsbestendig, maar vesten met een riem achter de ribben (zoals Ruffwear Webmaster of Perfect Fit Harnesses) zijn veiliger. Retractabele / uitneembare leiband mag nooit op onze honden worden gebruikt. Geadopteerde honden moeten worden opgehaald van het dierenasiel en direct naar huis vervoerd worden in een kooi. Heinen en poorten moeten minimaal 1,5 meter hoog zijn en veilig zijn. Alle honden zijn ingeënt, gemicrochipt en gesteriliseerd (tenzij de hond te jong is om te steriliseren). When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a crate. Fences and gates must be 5ft min & secure. All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered (unless the dog is too young to be neutered).
