Maribel was taken from a shelter when our companion went on one of her visits to rescue the most needy animals. A beautiful, tricolor, adult cat, terrified in a corner of a tiny cage... she had everything she needed to die there and without anyone to help her. If a shelter is terrible for dogs, you can't imagine it for cats. We couldn't look away and although we had and still have an overload of kittens and no space, we took her in. She was still terrified and throwing us her affectionate swipes. She also caught a cold and got sick and we had to keep her in the cage longer and medicate her, which delayed her socialization, which was not good for her. After a few months we could release her into the cat flap and little by little she lost her fear, and now, in the last two months her change has been ¡¡¡spectacular!!! She is affectionate, she loves us, she calls us, she purrs. We overcame the barrier of her heart and we saw that she is a sweet kitten, that all she wants is to trust and be stable... possibly she was a house cat that for some reason was left to her fate in the shelter. She needs a chance to be happy at last in a forever family.

Maribel fue sacada de una perrera cuando nuestra compañera acudió en una de sus visitas para sacar a los animales más necesitados de allí. Una gata preciosa, tricolor, adulta, aterrada en una esquina de un minúsculo jaulón…tenía todo lo necesario para morir allí y sin que nadie la ayudara. Si una perrera es terrible para los perros, no os imagináis para los gatos. No pudimos mirar a otro lado y aunque teníamos y seguimos teniendo sobresaturación de gatitos y nada de espacio, la recogimos. Con nosotras seguía aterrada y lanzándonos sus cariñosos zarpazos. Además cogió frío y se puso malita y la tuvimos que tener en jaulón más tiempo y medicándola, con lo que su sociabilización se atrasaba, cosa que no era bueno para ella. Después de unos meses ya pudimos soltarla en la gatera y poco a poco fue perdiendo el miedo, y ahora, en estos dos últimos meses su cambio ha sido ¡¡¡espectacular!!! Es cariñosa, nos quiere, nos llama, nos ronronea Superamos la barrera de su corazón y hemos visto que es un amor de gatita, que lo único que quiere es confiar y estar estable…posiblemente era una gatita casera a la que a saber por qué dejaron a su suerte en la perrera.
