06-07-26 Millie is a lovely lady who has come into our care from a breeder. She has been described as a big softy, and it's easy to see why. Millie can be a little apprehensive in the kennel environment, but once she feels comfortable, she really enjoys attention and a gentle fuss. Although she has come from a breeder, we have been told that she has never had any litters. However, she will still need adopters with experience to allow her time to settle in at her own pace. Millie can be nervous when meeting strangers and will sometimes lie down and become submissive while she works out that she is safe. Taking things at her pace and letting her build trust will help her settle. We have been told that Millie gets along well with all the dogs she meets, with a particular fondness for Poodle breeds! She is currently kennelled with dogs of a similar size and enjoys their company. Millie will need another kind, confident dog in her new home to help her settle and show her the ropes. We think she would be happiest in a home with just one other dog, as she can become overwhelmed in larger groups and tends to retreat into herself. She will need a secure garden of at least 6ft to help keep her safe as she settles in. As Millie has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, lead training, and the other basics of home life. Her new family will need to be patient and give her time to settle into her new routine. She can live with older dog-savvy teens, aged 16+ who will allow her time to settle in at her own pace. Millie is a gentle, affectionate girl who just needs a quiet home where she can feel safe. With a kind canine friend by her side and patient adopters, we hope she'll grow in confidence and enjoy everything home life has to offer. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
