Parsley2014 | Svart | Kob | Under 13,2 hh Hestekrisen i 2021 er langt fra det samme som da Parsley ble reddet i slutten av 2014. Det er dessverre fortsatt svært upermittere eiere som fortsetter å forlate sine uønskede dyr. Parsley er en av de heldige. Vi trenger deg til å støtte oss slik at vi kan være klar og i stand til å inntrer når det trengs og hjelpe andre ponier som ham. Fortellingen så langt... Tidlig i hestekrisen ble en av våre medarbeidere spurt av Durham County Council om de kunne ta imot en høne og kalv. Alle var litt overrasket da en kalv følgde en ettåring ut av hestebilen! Den fattige Parsley hadde tydeligvis blitt avbrutt for tidlig og gjentatte forsøk på å suse fra sin nye oppsynsmann. Oppsynsmennene som hadde blitt kalt for å hjelpe den forlatte paret, antok forståelig nok at de hadde funnet en mor og sønn. Selv om han hadde ganske god kroppsbygning ved ankomst, tok det mange måneder å få Parsley til gode helse; han hadde en tung lusinfeksjon og hadde gjentatte episode av diaré (sked). Derfor hadde han behov for langvarig behandling for å la hans betennelige tarm hele.

Sadly however, there are still highly irresponsible owners out there, who continue to abandon their unwanted animals.Parsley is one of the lucky ones.We need you to lend your support so that we can continue to be ready and able to step in when needed and help other ponies just like him.The story so far...Back in the early part of the horse crisis, one of our team was asked by Durham County Council, if they could take in a mare and foal.Everyone was then a little surprised, when a foal followed a yearling colt off the horsebox!Poor Parsley had clearly been weaned rather too early and was making fruitless attempts at suckling from his new found guardian. The wardens, who had been called to help the abandoned pair, had understandably assumed they had found a mother and her son.Despite being in fairly good body condition on arrival, it took many months to bring Parsley to good health; he had a heavy worm infestation and suffered repeated bouts of scouring (diarrhoea).As a result he needed prolonged medication to allow his inflamed gut to heal.
