Vennlig Sookie kom til oppsikt hos Dogs Friends i mars 2025 som en del av en mor-datterpar. Etter ett år med forsøk på å finne et hjem sammen, har det blitt besluttet å prøve å finne dem separate hjem. På grunn av at de har vært sammen så lenge, vil hennes nye hjem måtte være litt spesielt. I mellomtiden er hun i fosteropphold i Weston-super-Mare. Sookie er en Chihuahua og nesten 8 år gammel (født april 2018). Hun er utrolig søt og føler tydelig mye følelser, men søker å imøtekomme. Hennes villighet til å imøtekomme gjør at hun er svært åpnet for trening. Hun vil ha oppmerksomhet og klem og er ikke skamfull til å vise deg når det er tid for strekninger. Når hun er klar og virkelig heldig, elsker Sookie ingenting mer enn å ta en lekepose og starte spilltid. En gang Sookie har invitert deg inn i sitt sirkel, er hun svært menneskeorientert og sterkt loyalt. Fordi hun er vant til å ha moren sin, Piper, ved siden av seg, trenger Sookie ideelt et hjem hvor noen er til stede de fleste av tiden, spesielt under hennes innvilkningsperiode. Sookie søker et dyrefritt, voksne-only-hjem med en familie som er engasjert i hendes kontinuerlige trening. Hun er hundereaktiv, men har jobbet med dette sammen med Rescue's tillitsskyldige adferdsforskere og forventes å gjøre det bra med kontinuerlig trening. Sookie har en jaktinstinkt og kan ikke dele hjemmet med katte, fugler eller andre små dyr. Selv om hun er en Chihuahua, er hun svært "springy" og krever en sikker hage med 6 fot høy hekke! Sookie er generelt i god helse. Hun har en følsom mage som håndteres med en konsekvent kosthold med én proteinkilde. Cute Sookie came into the care of Dogs Friends in March 2025 as part of a mother-daughter pair. After a year of trying to find a home together, it has been decided to try to find them separate homes. Due to being a pair for so long, her new home will need to be a little special. Meantime, she is in foster care in Weston-super-Mare. Sookie is a Chihuahua and is 8 years old (born April 2018). She is incredibly sweet and clearly feels a lot of emotion but seeks to please. Her eagerness to please makes her very receptive to training. She craves attention and cuddles and isn’t shy to show you when it’s time for strokes. When she’s ready and really happy, Sookie loves nothing more than grabbing a toy and initiating play time. Once Sookie has welcomed you into her circle, she is incredibly people-oriented and fiercely loyal. Because she is used to having her mother, Piper, by her side, Sookie ideally needs a home where someone is around most of the time, particularly during her settling-in period. Sookie is looking for a pet-free, adult-only home with a family committed to her ongoing training. She is dog reactive, but she has been working on this with the Rescue's trusted behaviourists and expected to thrive with ongoing training. Sookie has a prey drive and cannot share her home with cats, birds or other small animals. Despite being a Chihuahua, she is very “springy” and requires a secure garden with 6ft fencing! Sookie is generally in good health. She has a sensitive stomach managed with a consistent diet of single protein.
