Nasz chłopak Freddie to bardzo lubiany mieszkaniec naszych klatk. Jest to urodziwy chłopak z wciągającą osobowością, brudnobrązową sierścią i pięknymi błękitnymi oczami. Najbardziej szczęśliwy jest, gdy gra w naszym polu z piłką do futbolu, a może nawet pozwoli Ci przyłapać go na kilku kopnięciach, jeśli dasz sobie radę. Freddie jest z nami ponad dwa lata, co jest bardzo smutne, ponieważ naprawdę jest wspaniałym chłopakiem. Jest przyjazny dla ludzi, czysty w klatce, zna wszystkie polecenia i neutralny wobec innych psów podczas spacerów. Spaceruje bardzo dobrze za psem z genconem (w rzeczywistości mógłby spacerować przez mile, jeśli byś mu to pozwolił, ponieważ uwielbia być na zewnątrz). W wieczory ceni sobie przytulanie się i spokojnie śpi przez całą noc. Niestety, Freddie ma chorobę zwaną Leishmaniozą. Szybkie przeszukanie Google może wydawać się bardzo poważne; jednak Freddie ma szczęście, ponieważ nie wpływa ona na jego życie w żaden sposób. Nie ma objawów, co oznacza, że nie cierpi z typowych objawów, które czasem pojawiają się u psów, które nie otrzymują odpowiedniego leczenia. Pijany dziennie mały tabletkę z jedzeniem, który połyka bez żadnego problemu, oraz roczne badania krwi. Nasze weterynary powiedziały, że jest jednym z najzdrowszych psów z Leish+ jakie kiedykolwiek widziały, a my możemy z pełnym przekonaniem powiedzieć, że Freddie żyje szczęśliwe i zdrowe życie. Chcielibyśmy również jasno powiedzieć, że Leishmanioza nie może zostać przeniesiona na inne psy, zwierzęta ani ludzi. Jeśli jest jedno coś, czego Freddie naprawdę uczy się, to piłka nożna. Jesteś najszczęśliwszy w naszym polu, biegając z piłką w pysku. Lubisz również szkolenie i bardzo dobrze słucha, gdy są w tym zaangażowane przykrycia. Opanował nasz kurs ataku, pewnie przeskakuje przez rampy i przez obręcz z opony. Kiedy wyczerpie się sam, chce do nas w naszym furgonie na uścisk, opierając się na Ciebie, więc możesz otoczyć go ramieniem. Freddie ma wspaniałą śmieszność i serdeczność, która sprawia, że jest ulubieńcem naszych pracowników i wolontariuszy. Freddie jest neutralny wobec innych psów podczas spacerów, co jest idealne. Nie dzielił się jeszcze miejscem w domu z innym psem, ale można to rozważyć po udanym spotkaniu. Szukamy domu bez kotów ani małych ssaków. Freddie lubi dzieci, ale ze względu na swój rozmiar i poziom energii rekomendujemy dom z dziećmi w wieku 14 lat i więcej. Ogród, gdzie może grać w piłkę, to konieczność, insynuacja! Czasem może się wysilać, ale zna słowo „nie” i będzie słuchać, gdy skończy rzucić krótki nastolatkowski sprzeciw. Ostatnio czuliśmy, że Freddie zaczyna czuć się trochę zdeprymowany w klatkach. Mimo że ceni swoje rutynowe zajęcia i lubi spędzać czas z naszymi pracownikami i wolontariuszami, naprawdę chce domu. Miejsce, gdzie czuje się kochany i otrzyma wszystko, czego zasługuje. Prosi tylko o kogoś z odrobiną cierpliwości i zrozumienia, który będzie gotowy dać mu szansę. Rozważalibyśmy również długoterminowe opiekunstwo dla Freddiego. To absolutnie świetny pies i choć bardzo by nam było przykro, że go stracimy, byłoby nam bardzo miło, gdyby znalazł się w miłym domowym miejscu.

Our boy Freddie is a much-loved resident at our kennels. He is a handsome lad with a charming personality, dirty blonde fur and gorgeous amber eyes. He is happiest when he’s playing in our field with his football, and he might even let you get a few kicks in if you can catch him. Freddie has been with us for over two years, which is such a shame because he really is a wonderful boy. He is friendly with people, clean in his crate, knows all his commands and is neutral with other dogs when out on walks. He walks beautifully on lead with a gencon (in fact, he would walk for miles if you let him, as he loves being out and about). In the evenings he enjoys snuggling up and happily sleeps through the night. Unfortunately, Freddie has a disease called Leishmaniasis. A quick Google search can make this sound very serious; however, Freddie is very fortunate in that it does not affect his life in any way. He is asymptomatic, meaning he does not suffer from the typical symptoms sometimes seen in dogs who do not receive appropriate treatment. He takes a small tablet daily with his food, which he wolfs down completely none the wiser, and has a yearly blood test. Our vets have said he is one of the healthiest Leish+ dogs they have ever seen, and we can confidently say that Freddie is living a happy, healthy life. We would also like to make it very clear that Leishmaniasis cannot be spread to other dogs, animals or humans. If there is one thing Freddie truly loves, it’s football. He is at his happiest in our field, charging around with his ball in his mouth. He also loves training and listens very well when treats are involved. He has mastered our assault course, confidently leaping over ramps and through the tyre hoop. Once he’s tired himself out, he likes to join us in our caravan for a cuddle, leaning into you so you can pop an arm around him. Freddie has a wonderfully silly, affectionate streak that makes him a firm favourite with our staff and volunteers. Freddie is neutral towards other dogs when out on walks, which is ideal. He has not shared indoor space with another dog before, but this could be considered following a successful meet and greet. We are looking for a home without cats or small furries. Freddie does like children, but due to his size and energy levels we would recommend a home with children aged 14+. A garden where he can play football is an absolute must, he insists! He can push his luck at times, but he knows the word “no” and will listen once he’s finished throwing a brief teenage strop. Recently, we’ve had the feeling that Freddie is starting to feel a little depressed in the kennels. While he enjoys his routine and loves spending time with our staff and volunteers, what he really wants is a home. A place where he can feel loved and have all the individual attention he deserves. All he asks for is someone with a little patience and understanding who’s willing to take a chance on him. We would also consider a long-term foster placement for Freddie. He is an absolutely cracking dog and, although we would be very sad to see him go, we would be thrilled to see him settled into a loving home of his own.
