26-05-26 Maggie jest słodką cockapoo, która wróciła do nas z innego domu po incydencie z udziałem mniejszego psa w tym gospodarstwie. Nie wiemy dokładnie, co się stało, ale w nocy, gdy była na ogrodzie, Maggie przestraszyła się i weszła w walkę po tym, jak drugi pies zaczął szczekać. Maggie jest bardzo nieśmiałą i wrażliwą suczką, która ostrożnie podchodzi do obcych, choć pozwala się dotykać. Bardzo stara się być odważna i zaczyna pokazywać małe oznaki postępu – nawet zbliża się do przyjmowania smakołyków z naszych rąk, choć jeszcze nie czuje się wystarczająco pewnie. Maggie nie jest jeszcze na tyle pewna siebie, by być jedynym psem w domu, dlatego uważamy, że najlepiej będzie jej w domu z jednym spokojnym i pewnym w sobie psem tej samej wielkości lub większym, który pomoże jej poczuć się bezpiecznie i zapewni jej poczucie bezpieczeństwa podczas procesu adaptacji. Ponieważ Maggie już wcześniej mieszkała w domu, będzie znana z widoków i dźwięków otoczenia domowego. Jednak może nadal potrzebować wsparcia w szkoleniu higienicznym, dopóki nie przyzwyczai się do nowego rytmu życia. Odkąd Maggie jest z nami, pokazała, że gdy czuje się zestresowana lub przytłoczona, może próbować uciec, wspinając się. Dlatego potrzebuje bardzo bezpiecznego ogrodu z ogrodzeniami co najmniej 180 cm wysokimi, aby była w pełni zabezpieczona i zapobiec ewentualnym próbom ucieczki. Kiedy Maggie pozna kogoś i zacznie mu ufać, staje się bardzo miłą i szczęśliwą suczką. Maggie is a very sweet girl who originally came to us from a breeder. She was adopted for around 16 months, but has sadly returned to us from a home following an incident with one of the smaller resident dogs in the home. During the evening, while out in the garden, Maggie was frightened by the other dog barking. Although we don't know exactly what happened, the interaction unfortunately ended in a fight and they struggled to make up or co-exist after this. Maggie will be looking for a calm and quiet home with adopters who have experience with ex-breeding dogs and where she can settle in at her own pace. Unfortunately on one occasion in her previous home, Maggie became tangled in her harness and in a panic, bit the hand of the male owner who was trying to help free her. This was purely through fear and was an isolated, one off incident, but due to this, Maggie will be looking for an adult only home. When Maggie first returned to our care, she was a very shy girl who was unsure about new people, but since then she has settled in wonderfully and is an absolute dream. She is a very gentle girl who is so loving and confident, especially with her main carer, who has built such an incredible bond with her in a short period of time. Maggie is now confident enough that we would consider homing her as an only dog in the right circumstances, with adopters who have experience with ex-breeding dogs and who have plenty of time to spend with her and to help her settle in. She could also live with another calm and confident resident dog, but they would need to be her size or larger. She has shared her kennel with quite a few different dogs since being back with us and she has been amazing with all of them and is happy to share food and toys. She even visits the big play yard with a larger group of dogs for a play date, which she really enjoys! She is a playful girl and likes to keep herself entertained by playing with a tennis ball by herself, which is very sweet to watch! She does also like to run around and play with some of her dog friends too. She is also very food motivated and loves her treats. As Maggie has previously lived in a home, she will be familiar with home life, but may need some reminders of house training. She can already walk on a lead and harness and will often check back to you for reassurance. She walks well without pulling and is lovely to take out on walks. Maggie can be worried by men and did initially bark at the male resident in her previous home, but with time, patience, and gentle handling, she slowly began to come around. We are ensuring she socialises with males here and she does have a male staff member as part of her care team and has bonded well with him, which is lovely. She is very people oriented and once she knows you and is comfortable with you, she will become your best friend. She absolutely adores her main carer and will follow her around like a shadow and loves a fuss and cuddle! Since Maggie has been with us, she has shown that when she feels stressed or overwhelmed, she may try to find a way to escape by climbing. Because of this, she will need a very secure garden with boundaries of at least 6ft to help keep her safe and prevent any potential escape attempts. Once Maggie knows and trusts someone, she is a very sweet and happy girl. In the right calm and understanding home, with patient and dog-savvy owners who are willing to let her settle at her own pace, we are confident she will continue to make wonderful progress and become the most lovely companion. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
