26-05-26 Maggie jest słodką cockapoo, która wróciła do nas z innego domu po incydencie z udziałem mniejszego psa w tym gospodarstwie. Nie wiemy dokładnie, co się stało, ale w nocy, gdy była na ogrodzie, Maggie przestraszyła się i weszła w walkę po tym, jak drugi pies zaczął szczekać. Maggie jest bardzo nieśmiałą i wrażliwą suczką, która ostrożnie podchodzi do obcych, choć pozwala się dotykać. Bardzo stara się być odważna i zaczyna pokazywać małe oznaki postępu – nawet zbliża się do przyjmowania smakołyków z naszych rąk, choć jeszcze nie czuje się wystarczająco pewnie. Maggie nie jest jeszcze na tyle pewna siebie, by być jedynym psem w domu, dlatego uważamy, że najlepiej będzie jej w domu z jednym spokojnym i pewnym w sobie psem tej samej wielkości lub większym, który pomoże jej poczuć się bezpiecznie i zapewni jej poczucie bezpieczeństwa podczas procesu adaptacji. Ponieważ Maggie już wcześniej mieszkała w domu, będzie znana z widoków i dźwięków otoczenia domowego. Jednak może nadal potrzebować wsparcia w szkoleniu higienicznym, dopóki nie przyzwyczai się do nowego rytmu życia. Z tego powodu Maggie potrzebuje spokojnego domu dla dorosłych, z cierpliwymi i wyrozumiałymi adopcyjnymi rodzicami, którzy mają doświadczenie lub rozumienie wyzwań związanych z przeprowadzeniem psa z hodowli do nowego domu. Odkąd Maggie jest z nami, pokazała, że gdy czuje się zestresowana lub przytłoczona, może próbować uciec, wspinając się. Dlatego potrzebuje bardzo bezpiecznego ogrodu z ogrodzeniami co najmniej 180 cm wysokimi, aby była w pełni zabezpieczona i zapobiec ewentualnym próbom ucieczki. Kiedy Maggie pozna kogoś i zacznie mu ufać, staje się bardzo miłą i szczęśliwą suczką. W odpowiednim, spokojnym i wyrozumiałym domu, z cierpliwymi właścicielami, dobrze zorientowanymi w potrzebach psów, gotowymi dać jej czas na oswojenie się w własnym tempie, jesteśmy pewni, że będzie nadal robić wspaniałe postępy i powoli wychodzić ze swojej skorupy. Ten pies może zostać przygarnięty wraz z innym psem zamieszkującym dom.

Maggie spent the first few years of her life at a breeders & originally came to us when she was 5 years old. She was adopted in January 2025 & spent 16 months in a home. She ended up back in our care & has since waited to find her forever. Maggie really is just the sweetest, most special girl. Whilst she is shy at first, she bonds incredibly closely with her people. She has a cheeky, playful side & loves to fling herself around with a tennis ball. She bounces & prances around the yard just keeping herself entertained. Maggie is our girl who helps the scared dogs be brave. Maggie shows them how it’s done & truly she has been the helping hand for so many dogs since she has been with us. She has seen kennel friends come & go, yet she still waits in kennels. Maggie is a happy dog even in kennels, especially when she is with any of her favourite people. She is so affectionate & truly a little shadow. You gain a best friend when you’re loved by Maggie. Our groomer has said multiple times that she is an absolute delight to groom. Maggie loves nothing more than to roll around in mud, sand, leaves, she gets mucky quickly. Her & our groomer are well acquainted now so she is well adjusted to grooming. Sadly, Maggie was returned to us following an incident involving one of the smaller resident dogs in her previous home. While out in the garden one evening, Maggie became frightened by the other dog barking, and although we don't know exactly what happened, the interaction unfortunately ended in a fight. They struggled to make up or comfortably co-exist afterwards, so Maggie will need a carefully chosen home where everyone can feel safe and settled. Maggie is looking for a calm and quiet, adult-only home with adopters who have experience with ex-breeding dogs and can give her plenty of time, patience and understanding to settle at her own pace. She can be worried by men and initially barked at the male resident in her previous home, although with time, patience and gentle handling, she slowly began to come around. We are continuing to help her build positive relationships with men here, and she has bonded well with a male staff member who is part of her care team. Maggie is very people-oriented and, once she knows and trusts you, she becomes an incredibly loving and devoted companion. She is particularly attached to her main carer and loves following her around, enjoying fuss and cuddles. When she first returned to us, she was very shy and unsure of new people, but she has since settled in wonderfully and has made lovely progress. Although Maggie previously lived with another dog, her home will need careful consideration following her return. We would now consider her as an only dog in the right circumstances, with experienced adopters who have plenty of time to help her settle. Alternatively, she could live with a calm, confident resident dog of a similar size or larger. She has shared her kennel with several different dogs since returning and has been wonderful with them, happily sharing food and toys. She also enjoys play dates with a larger group of dogs in our big play yard. I cannot live with cats, so I will need a home without small furries. Maggie is very food-motivated and loves her treats, which will be helpful when settling into her new home. She can already walk nicely on a lead and harness without pulling and will often check back with you for reassurance. Having previously lived in a home, she will be familiar with home life, although she may need some reminders of her house training. On one occasion in her previous home, Maggie became tangled in her harness and panicked, biting the hand of the male owner who was trying to help free her. This was an isolated incident caused by fear, but it is important that her new family understands how she may react when frightened or overwhelmed. She will need calm, gentle handling and people who can recognise when she is worried and give her the reassurance and space she needs. Maggie has also shown that when she feels stressed or overwhelmed, she may try to escape by climbing. For this reason, she will need a very secure garden with boundaries of at least 6ft to help keep her safe. Maggie has had four teeth extracted, and this should be kept in mind as part of her veterinary history. Maggie has so much love to give to the people she trusts. In the right calm and understanding home, with experienced, patient and dog-savvy adopters who allow her to settle at her own pace, we are confident she will continue to flourish and become a truly wonderful companion. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
