Barbara, claro, está em busca de um lar para sempre, mas também se beneficiaria de algum tempo fora das gaiolas em uma casa de acolhimento. Barbara é uma garota linda que procura uma família tranquila que compreenda que ela precisa de tempo e paciência para se conhecerem e mostrar seu lado travesso. Não temos nenhum histórico sobre de onde ela veio, mas com o quanto ela estava assustada ao chegar e o quanto demorou para construir laços com ela, achamos que ela teve pouca interação humana ou interação que não foi muito boa. Ela é tímida com manuseio se não a conhecer, mas quando começa a confiar, ela gosta de carinho. Estamos continuando a treiná-la, usando desensibilização ao toque e à coleira. Ela anda bem, mesmo apenas com a coleira. Barbara tem artrite na coluna e pernas, mas está em medicamento para isso, o que ajudou muito, então precisará estar nesse tratamento por longo período. Estamos procurando um lar somente para adultos, idealmente pessoas que tenham experiência com cães nervosos que tenham tempo para trabalhar com Barbara e que possam vir ao resgate múltiplas vezes antes que ela venha para casa para garantir que ela esteja confortável. Um jardim seguro e tranquilo também é essencial, pois ela pode precisar de algum tempo para se acostumar com a casa antes de sair para caminhadas. Um lar ideal teria uma área separada/segura para Barbara se visitantes desconhecidos virem à casa, para que ela tenha seu próprio espaço se ela se sobrecarregar. Barbara realmente começou a brilhar conosco e ela tem uma personalidade feliz e divertida quando mostra. Ela adora brinquedos e adora correr solta, jogando brinquedos no ar enquanto corre. se tiver espaço no coração para um cão que precise de um pouco mais de trabalho, então realmente acreditamos que Barbara é perfeita para você e será um companheiro incrível!

Introducing Barbara, who recently had a great time at our annual dog show, she placed 4th in “a face only a mother could love”… but is now waiting for that mum, and or, dad to show her rosette off too. Barbara is a 4 year old Chinese Bulldog with a huge personality just waiting to show it off to a forever family. While she can be a little nervous when first meeting new people, anyone willing to give her the time and patience she needs will soon see what a truly special girl she is. Once Barbara forms a bond, her wonderful character shines through, she’s funny, sweet, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining. As we don’t know anything about Barbara’s life before coming into our care, we’re unsure whether she has lived in a home environment before. However, she absolutely loves spending time with us in the office, where she happily settles herself on a cosy bed or curls up on the sofa. She may need a little refresher with house training, so a home with a secure garden would be ideal. This would give her a safe space to continue building her confidence and help her gradually adjust to her new routine before venturing further afield. Barbara has had some worries around handling in the past, but thanks to training, understanding, and medication to help manage her arthritis, she has come on leaps and bounds. These days she really enjoys a fuss and is happy to be stroked all over by the people she trusts. Her medication will need to be long term, if interested in Barbara we will discuss her medical in more detail with you. She enjoys walking alongside other dogs and is happy to socialise out and about, but at the moment Barbara would prefer to be the only dog in her new home so she can enjoy all the attention for herself. Barbara is also a fantastic traveller and loves car journeys, especially when she can look out of the window and watch the world pass by on the way to her next adventure. Barbara is looking for a calm, adult-only home with patient adopters who will give her the time she needs to settle in. Her adopters may also need to visit the rescue several times before taking her home. In return, you’ll gain a loyal companion with a loving nature, and a personality that’s impossible not to fall in love with!!
