Barbara cherche bien sûr un foyer pour la vie mais bénéficierait également d'un temps hors des cages dans une famille d'accueil. Barbara est une jolie fille qui cherche une famille calme qui comprendra qu'elle a besoin de temps et de patience pour vous connaître et montrer son côté joueur. Nous n'avons aucune information sur l'endroit d'où elle vient, mais vu à quel point elle était effrayée à l'arrivée et combien il a fallu du temps pour créer des liens avec elle, nous pensons qu'elle a eu très peu d'interactions humaines ou des interactions qui n'ont pas été très agréables. Elle est timide lorsqu'il s'agit de manipulations si elle ne vous connaît pas, mais lorsqu'elle commence à faire confiance, elle apprécie les câlinettes. Nous continuons à la former en utilisant la désensibilisation au contact et au harnais. Elle marche bien même seulement avec son collier. Barbara souffre d'arthrose au dos et aux jambes, mais elle prend un médicament qui l'aide beaucoup, donc elle devra continuer à prendre ce médicament à long terme. Nous recherchons un foyer uniquement pour adultes, idéalement avec des personnes qui ont peut-être de l'expérience avec un chien nerveux, qui ont le temps de travailler avec Barbara et qui pourront venir en aide plusieurs fois avant qu'elle n'aille chez elle pour s'assurer qu'elle est confortable. Un jardin sécurisé et calme est également indispensable car elle aura peut-être besoin d'un moment pour s'installer à la maison avant de sortir pour des promenades. Une maison idéale aurait une zone séparée/secure pour Barbara si des visiteurs inconnus venaient à la maison afin qu'elle ait son propre espace si elle se sent submergée. Barbara a vraiment commencé à briller auprès de nous et elle a une personnalité joyeuse et joueuse lorsqu'elle le montre. Elle adore les jouets et aime courir librement, lançant des jouets en l'air pendant qu'elle court. Si vous avez de la place dans votre cœur pour un chien qui a besoin de travail supplémentaire, alors nous sommes réellement convaincus que Barbara est faite pour vous et sera un merveilleux compagnon !

Introducing Barbara, who recently had a great time at our annual dog show, she placed 4th in “a face only a mother could love”… but is now waiting for that mum, and or, dad to show her rosette off too. Barbara is a 4 year old Chinese Bulldog with a huge personality just waiting to show it off to a forever family. While she can be a little nervous when first meeting new people, anyone willing to give her the time and patience she needs will soon see what a truly special girl she is. Once Barbara forms a bond, her wonderful character shines through, she’s funny, sweet, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining. As we don’t know anything about Barbara’s life before coming into our care, we’re unsure whether she has lived in a home environment before. However, she absolutely loves spending time with us in the office, where she happily settles herself on a cosy bed or curls up on the sofa. She may need a little refresher with house training, so a home with a secure garden would be ideal. This would give her a safe space to continue building her confidence and help her gradually adjust to her new routine before venturing further afield. Barbara has had some worries around handling in the past, but thanks to training, understanding, and medication to help manage her arthritis, she has come on leaps and bounds. These days she really enjoys a fuss and is happy to be stroked all over by the people she trusts. Her medication will need to be long term, if interested in Barbara we will discuss her medical in more detail with you. She enjoys walking alongside other dogs and is happy to socialise out and about, but at the moment Barbara would prefer to be the only dog in her new home so she can enjoy all the attention for herself. Barbara is also a fantastic traveller and loves car journeys, especially when she can look out of the window and watch the world pass by on the way to her next adventure. Barbara is looking for a calm, adult-only home with patient adopters who will give her the time she needs to settle in. Her adopters may also need to visit the rescue several times before taking her home. In return, you’ll gain a loyal companion with a loving nature, and a personality that’s impossible not to fall in love with!!
