👉🏼 Meet Dorothy! A devoted mother who survived the harsh Serbian streets. ⚧️ Sex: Female 🎂 Age: Approx. 3/4 years 🦴 Breed: Retriever 📏 Size: Large 🐱 Cat friendly: No 🐕 Dog friendly: Best as the only dog in the home 👶 Child friendly: Suitable for older, dog-savvy children ⚡ Energy level: Active 🏡 Ideal home: A single dog household with an experienced owner who can give her plenty of attention, love, and stimulation. 🐾 Personality & Temperament 🐾 Dorothy is a confident, intelligent girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She forms strong bonds with her people and loves having their attention and guidance. Once she trusts you, she is deeply loyal and devoted. She prefers to be the only dog in the home, where she doesn’t have to compete for space or affection. Dorothy enjoys feeling secure and knowing her place within a calm, structured environment. Because she is a strong and self-assured dog, Dorothy will thrive with an experienced owner who can provide clear boundaries, consistency, and reassurance. In the right hands, her confidence becomes a wonderful quality; she is affectionate, expressive, and full of character. With stability and understanding, Dorothy truly blossoms ✨ Dorothy has a joyful, playful nature and can become excitable when greeting people, often jumping up out of happiness. While this comes from a place of affection, it means she is best suited to homes with older, dog-savvy children who are comfortable around larger, energetic dogs. She may also show some jealousy around other dogs, particularly if she feels she is competing for attention, which is why she will do best as the only dog in the home 🤍 📖 Dorothy’s Story 📖 Dorothy was found living rough on the streets with her two puppies, with no shelter and surviving on scraps. She and her little family were eventually discovered during our Whispaws street feeding campaign, and we began feeding them regularly while searching for a safe solution.
