Seu olhar e seus olhos contam tudo 😔. No final de dezembro, o levamos da Perrera para nosso abrigo animal em Calvià. Até então ninguém – absolutamente ninguém se interessou por ele ou lhe deu um lugar quente de segurança😔. Melon tem cerca de 14 anos e estar em um abrigo animal/perrera é praticamente o último lugar onde um cão idoso deveria estar. O corpo de Melon é caracterizado por uma vida definitivamente não bonita. Suas patas dianteiras estão fortemente flexionadas – provavelmente devido a osteoartrite grave, mas também possivelmente devido a fraturas antigas não tratadas. Melon chegou à Perrera como Vagabundo (cachorro encontrado sem microchip) – e um cão velho em tal estado certamente não fugiria sozinho. O velho macho com olhos tristes é incrivelmente carinhoso, afetuoso e agradecido por cada pequena atenção. E ele é amigável com todos. Apesar de suas pernas deformadas, ele ainda consegue andar relativamente "bem" e ainda tem força. Claro, distâncias longas, isso é perfeitamente claro. Mas de alguma forma ele se adaptou. Ele ama tanto ficar com seus cuidadores e procurar um lugar quente onde pode se deitar bem perto deles. No entanto, Melon acha gatos muito "intrusivos" – e mesmo que ele realmente não tenha chances de chegar a eles, eles podem não estar presentes em seu novo lar/centro de cuidados. E exatamente ISSO – um lar ou até um centro de cuidados (com a responsabilidade da assistência médica por parte de nós) é o que desejamos tanto para ele. Um lugar aquecido, segurança, atenção e tranquilidade – preferencialmente em uma finca ou casa com jardim. Porque é assim que ele parece ter vivido até agora. Melon é velho – muito velho. E ele deve ser permitido passar o resto do tempo com dignidade 🙏. Sim, o levamos para nós (SOS ANIMAL) para "liberá-lo" da Perrera e salvá-lo do sofrimento lá – mas também somos apenas um abrigo animal. Definitivamente não podemos oferecer o que ele merece tanto. Por favor, compartilhe nossa busca e nos ajude a encontrar um (gracioso) lugar para este maravilhoso cão idoso ❤️

His look and his eyes actually tell everything 😔. In mid-December we took him over from the Perrera to our animal shelter in Calvià. Until then no one – absolutely no one had been interested in him or gave him a warm place in security😔. Melon is about 14 years old and sitting in an animal shelter/perrera is pretty much the last place where a dog senior should be. Melon’s body is characterised by a definitely not beautiful life. His front legs are strongly bent – probably due to severe osteoarthritis, but possibly also due to old untreated fractures. Melon had landed in the Perrera as a Vagabundo (found dog without micro chip) – and an old dog in such a state will definitely not run away by itself. The old male with the sad eyes is incredibly loveable, affectionate and grateful for every little attention. And he is friendly to everyone. Despite his deformed legs, he can still walk relatively “well” and he still has strength. Of course, no long distances, that’s perfectly clear. But somehow he made up with it. He loves so much to be with his caregivers and to look for a warm place where he can lie down very close to them. However, Melon finds cats very “intracing” – and even if he actually has no chance to get to them, they might not be present in his new home/nursing home. And exactly THAT – a home or even a nursing home (with taking over the medical care by us) we wish so much for him. A warm place, security, attention and tranquillity – preferably on a finca or a house with a garden. Because that’s how he seems to have lived so far. Melon is old – very old. And he should be allowed to spend the rest of his time in dignity 🙏. Yes, we took him over to us (SOS ANIMAL) to “free” him from the Perrera and to save him the suffering there – but we are also ONLY an animal shelter. We definitely cannot offer him what he deserves so much. Please share our search and help us find a (grace) place for this wonderful dog senior ❤️
