Duas meninas chegaram ao abrigo, tremendo e assustadas, sem microchip, mas surpreendentemente em excelente condição física, ficamos surpresos! Normalmente, quando recebemos cães do tipo Podenco, eles chegam em más condições, famintos etc, mas Kamille & Petunia estavam bem fisicamente. Após o primeiro choque, elas rapidamente começaram a confiar no pessoal e nos voluntários, e agora fazem acrobacias, com suas caudas caindo de tanto se balançar tão felizes e rápido, quando veem pessoas que gostam, se aproximando delas. Primeiro achamos que talvez fossem irmãs, mas o veterinário diz que, segundo os dentes, Petunia parece ter um ano mais que Kamille, então talvez mãe e filha, mas acreditamos que são relacionadas. Elas são muito carinhosas uma com a outra, cuidam uma da outra. Petunia é um pouco maior, e também mais corajosa, vem até as pessoas para cumprimentar e pedir lanches também! Petunia também tem um pouco mais de independência para explorar, enquanto Kamille se cola com seus humanos favoritos. Petunia adora comer! Refeições com carne fresca e lanches naturais são suas preferidas, e se não lhe der, ela fará questão de você saber o que ela quer, indo buscar por conta própria no seu bolso! Enquanto Kamille estava muito ansiosa com a coleira no início, Petunia está muito mais relaxada com a coleira, o que ajuda Kamille a segui-la. Ela adora sair para caminhar, e caminha muito bem ao seu lado. Quando elas estão no parque canino, voltam a ser tão vivas e felizes, pulando como pequenos cervos entre os arbustos, procurando ratos e insetos, como normalmente fazem os Podencos. Ambas são muito motivadas por comida, então é fácil chamar sua atenção, e promover e fazer exercícios com as garotas. Claro que seria muito maravilhoso se elas encontrassem um lar juntas, no entanto, em algum período de tempo, temos certeza que elas poderiam ser adotadas separadamente, desde que o lar adotivo já tenha um ou mais cães em casa. Enquanto Petunia poderia potencialmente ser feliz como um único cão em uma área tranquila e calma (ainda assim, preferencialmente com outros cães), Kamille absolutamente, certamente, precisa de outros cães na família para se orientar. A altura dos ombros de Kamille é 42 cm, e Petunia é 46 cm.

Two little girls arrived to the shelter, so shaky and scared, without a microchip, but surprisingly in a very good physical condition, we were surprised! Usually when we receive Podenco type of dogs, they normally arrive in bad conditions, starved etc, but Kamille & Petunia were fine physically. After the first shock, they very quickly started to trust the staff and volunteers, and by now they make sommersaults, with their tails falling off from wiggling so happy and fast, when they see people they like, approaching them. First we thought maybe they are sisters, but the veterinary says that according to the teeth, Petunia seems to be a year older than Kamille, so maybe mother & daughter, but we believe they are related. They are very affectionate with each other, care for one another. Petunia is a bit bigger, and also more courageous, comes up to humans to say hello and to ask for snacks too! Petunia also has a bit more independance to go looking around, while Kamille is cuddling with her favourite humans. Petunia loves to eat! Fresh meat meals and natural snacks are her favourite, and if you don't give it to her, she will make sure you know what she wants, by going for self-service in your pocket! While Kamille was panicking heavily on the leash at first, then Petunia is much more relaxed on the leash, and that helps Kamille, to follow her. She loves to go for a walk, and walks very nicely next to you. Once they are in the dog park, they are so alive and happy again, jumping like little deer between the bushes, looking for mice and bugs, like normal Podencos. They are both very food motivated, so it is easy to get their attention, and promote and do exercises with the girls. Of course it would be really wonderful if they could find a home together, however over some period of time, we are sure they could very well be adopted separately, providing that the adoptive home already has one or more dogs at home. While Petunia could potentially also be happy as a single dog in a quiet, calm area (still, preferably with other dogs), then Kamille absolutely, for sure, needs other dogs in the family to orientate herself. Kamille's shoulder height is 42cm, and Petunia is 46cm.
