Adottare Petunia

Due piccole ragazze sono arrivate al rifugio, così tremanti e spaventate, senza microchip, ma sorprendentemente in ottime condizioni fisiche, siamo rimasti sorpresi! Di solito quando riceviamo cani del tipo Podenco, di solito arrivano in cattive condizioni, affamati ecc., ma Kamille & Pegonia erano in buone condizioni fisiche. Dopo il primo shock, hanno iniziato molto velocemente a fidarsi del personale e degli volontari, e ora fanno capriole, con la coda che cade per via di tanto agitamento felice e veloce, quando vedono persone che gli piacciono che si avvicinano. All'inizio abbiamo pensato forse siano sorelle, ma il veterinario dice che secondo i denti, Pegonia sembra avere un anno più di Kamille, quindi forse madre e figlia, ma crediamo siano legate. Sono molto affettuose tra loro, si curano reciprocamente. Pegonia è un po' più grande e anche più coraggiosa, va verso le persone per salutare e chiedere snack! Pegonia ha anche un po' più di indipendenza per andare in giro a cercare, mentre Kamille si rannicchia con le sue persone preferite. Pegonia ama mangiare! I pasti con carne fresca e snack naturali sono i suoi preferiti, e se non te li dà, farà in modo che tu sappia cosa vuole, facendo l'autoservizio nella tua tasca! Mentre Kamille aveva molta paura della guinzaglio all'inizio, Pegonia è molto più rilassata con la guinzaglio, e questo aiuta Kamille a seguirle. Le piace fare una passeggiata, e cammina molto bene accanto a te. Una volta nel parco cani, sono così vive e felici di nuovo, saltando come piccoli cervi tra i cespugli, cercando topi e insetti, come i normali Podencos. Sono entrambe molto motivate dal cibo, quindi è facile attirare la loro attenzione e fare esercizi con le ragazze. Ovviamente sarebbe veramente meraviglioso se potessero trovare una casa insieme, tuttavia nel corso di un certo periodo di tempo, siamo sicuri che potrebbero essere adottate separatamente, purché la casa adottiva abbia già uno o più cani in casa. Two little girls arrived to the shelter, so shaky and scared, without a microchip, but surprisingly in a very good physical condition, we were surprised! Usually when we receive Podenco type of dogs, they normally arrive in bad conditions, starved etc, but Kamille & Petunia were fine physically. After the first shock, they very quickly started to trust the staff and volunteers, and by now they make sommersaults, with their tails falling off from wiggling so happy and fast, when they see people they like, approaching them. First we thought maybe they are sisters, but the veterinary says that according to the teeth, Petunia seems to be a year older than Kamille, so maybe mother & daughter, but we believe they are related. They are very affectionate with each other, care for one another. Petunia is a bit bigger, and also more courageous, comes up to humans to say hello and to ask for snacks too! Petunia also has a bit more independance to go looking around, while Kamille is cuddling with her favourite humans. Petunia loves to eat! Fresh meat meals and natural snacks are her favourite, and if you don't give it to her, she will make sure you know what she wants, by going for self-service in your pocket! While Kamille was panicking heavily on the leash at first, then Petunia is much more relaxed on the leash, and that helps Kamille, to follow her. She loves to go for a walk, and walks very nicely next to you. Once they are in the dog park, they are so alive and happy again, jumping like little deer between the bushes, looking for mice and bugs, like normal Podencos. They are both very food motivated, so it is easy to get their attention, and promote and do exercises with the girls. Of course it would be really wonderful if they could find a home together, however over some period of time, we are sure they could very well be adopted separately, providing that the adoptive home already has one or more dogs at home. While Petunia could potentially also be happy as a single dog in a quiet, calm area (still, preferably with other dogs), then Kamille absolutely, for sure, needs other dogs in the family to orientate herself. Kamille's shoulder height is 42cm, and Petunia is 46cm.
