💕 Some cats are simply born to be mums… and Poppy is one of them. 💕 Beautiful Poppy is a 3-year-old neutered female who came into the care of RSPCA Bluebell Ridge from the same multi-cat household as Chester. From the moment she arrived, it became clear just how extraordinary this gentle girl is. Not only has Poppy been a loving mum herself, but she also took two orphaned kittens from the same household under her wing. She chose to become their surrogate mum, showering Peony and Petal with love, comfort and security as they settled into rescue. The girls are absolutely thriving thanks to Poppy’s devotion. While many mum cats are ready for a well-earned break once their kittens grow up, Poppy still adores her little ones. She can often be found curled up beside them, grooming them, cuddling them and even trying to nurse them despite no longer producing milk. It’s impossible not to be touched by just how caring she is. If we could wave a magic wand, we’d love to find a home for Poppy with Peony and Petal, but we know how incredibly difficult it is to find someone able to adopt one adult cat and two kittens together. More than anything, we want Poppy to have the loving forever home she deserves, even if that means saying goodbye to the babies she’s helped raise. Poppy absolutely loves a fuss and enjoys spending time with people, although she can be a little startled by sudden movements. She’ll flourish with a patient family who let her build confidence at her own pace. She would like a home with no other pets (unless you’re hoping to adopt her alongside her girls) and could happily live with older, sensible children aged 15 years and over. Poppy has spent so much of her life caring for others. Now it’s time for someone to care for her.
