Trixie é uma senhora muito doce que veio até nós de um criador em busca de uma nova oportunidade. Embora seu rabo esteja constantemente abanando, ela se aproxima timidamente para receber carinho suave e tende a se afastar e observar de longe até sentir-se segura. Assim que ganha confiança, ela é carinhosa e aprecia um abraço e carinho suave. Em acolhimento, ela se mostrou uma menina nervosa em ambientes novos, que ainda precisa de incentivo para interagir com pessoas novas. Ela costuma ficar para trás e observar, mas assim que se sente mais segura, vem para interagir e aprecia o carinho e atenção de seu acolhedora. Apesar de ser ainda uma menina nervosa, ela também não gosta de dividir sua casa com outros cães, então acreditamos que ela seria mais feliz como único cão em sua nova casa. Embora esteja em acolhimento com outros cães, ela pode sentir ciúmes quando seu acolhedora demonstra atenção a outros cães e já reagiu a eles ocasionalmente. Ela se dá bem com outros cães calmos, mas pode reagir a cães que latem ou fazem barulho ou que se aproximam demais ou são muito agitados. Por esse motivo, achamos que ela seria melhor indicada para uma casa só de adultos, com adotantes que tenham experiência com cães ex criadores nervosos. Ela se deu bem com gatos, mas por causa de sua tendência a sentir ciúmes, não a colocaríamos com gatos. No jardim, ela mostrou sinais de escavar e já tentou escapar de uma casa de acolhimento anterior, então cercas muito seguras são essenciais. Sua nova casa precisa ter cerca mínima de 1,8 metros (6 pés) de altura e seus novos adotantes precisarão mantê-la em coleira no jardim até que ganhe confiança ao ar livre. Ela pode apreciar ter um buraco de areia para brincar, para que possa escavar em locais apropriados. Trixie foi quase limpa em casa em sua casa de acolhimento e parece estar progredindo na treinamento para banheiro. Trixie is an amazing little lady who came to us from a breeder. She found kennel life quite overwhelming at first and took some time to settle in, but she has gradually grown in confidence and is now beginning to let her wonderful personality shine. Once Trixie learns to trust you, she becomes incredibly affectionate and loves nothing more than being close to her favourite people. She will happily climb into your lap for cuddles and enjoys soaking up as much attention as possible. Trixie spent some time in a foster home, where she began to experience life in a home environment. This helped to build her confidence and allowed her to start learning that the world isn't such a scary place. Despite the progress she has made, she will still need time to adjust and would much prefer a calm, quiet home without too much hustle and bustle, allowing her to settle at her own pace and build a strong bond with her new family. Trixie has returned to the rescue after we discovered that she would be happiest as the only dog in the home. Since returning, it has been lovely to see her personality continue to blossom. She enjoys spending time with other dogs in the yard and gets very excited to see her canine friends each day. She is happy to socialise with calm dogs while out and about, but within the home she can become jealous when attention is shared and has occasionally reacted towards other dogs. For this reason, Trixie will need a home where she is the only pet, with no resident dogs or cats. She will also need an adult-only home with adopters who understand the needs of ex-breeding dogs and can give her the time, patience, and one-to-one attention she truly deserves. In the garden, she displayed digging behaviours and has previously tried to escape a foster home, so very secure boundaries are essential. Her new home will need to have 6ft minimum fencing height and her new adopters will need to keep her on lead in the garden until she gains confidence outside. Trixie had been mostly clean in the house in her foster home, and seemed to be a star at toilet training. However, she may need some reminders in her new home as she settles in new surroundings. She is walking on a lead and harness, but can still become startled and may try to back out if frightened. She has had a small lump removed from her left mammary gland and is recovering well. She has a travel document.
