Meet Zeus, a handsome and affectionate 2-year-old German Shepherd crossbreed with a big personality and plenty of enthusiasm for life! Zeus is a friendly, playful boy who loves spending time with people, enjoying fuss and showing off his favourite toys. He particularly enjoys exploring on walks, following interesting scents and having opportunities to play. He has also shown that he can enjoy the company of other dogs, although his excitement can sometimes get the better of him, so he will benefit from continued guidance with his social skills. Zeus has found kennel life challenging and can become quite vocal, particularly when seeking company. Encouragingly, he has appeared more relaxed when enjoying walks away from the kennel environment. He is looking for an active, understanding home where his new family can provide consistency, companionship and plenty of opportunities to learn. As an active, excitable dog with German Shepherd traits, Zeus will need owners with experience of energetic dogs, or who have thoroughly researched their needs and are prepared for the commitment involved. His new family should be confident managing his strength, supporting his ongoing training and helping him develop calmer behaviours. At this stage, we feel Zeus still needs to learn some social etiquette before living with another dog, although this could be discussed on a case-by-case basis. He may be suitable for a family with confident teenagers aged 13 and above. He would benefit from access to a secure garden and owners who can initially spend time helping him settle, gradually building his confidence with being left alone. With patience, positive training and the right environment, Zeus has the potential to become a wonderfully fun and affectionate companion.
