Alfred este un încăpățânat bătrân, de fapt un câine foarte amuzant și afecționat, dar mediul adăpostului nu-i convine. Aici, în adăpost, s-a transformat într-un bătrân temător care uneori se apără cu dinții săi mici. Dar când încrederea este acordată, este doar minunat. Când voluntarii îl iau din incintă pentru a petrece timp cu el în curte, poți vedea cum acest mic tip se deschide și începe să strălucească. Îi place foarte mult plimbările și, în stilul tipic Podengo, iubește să pătrundă și să sară după șoareci. Ce are nevoie acest bătrân mai mult decât orice este o familie care să-i ofere liniște. Ar fi un candidat ideal pentru plimbări leneșe și poate trăi cu alți câini, deși aceștia nu ar trebui să fie extrem de energici, deoarece Alfred nu mai este un tânăr rapid. Dar asta nu înseamnă că este vechi și moale sau că necesită îngrijiri speciale. Încă poate bucurați-vă de aventuri potrivite pentru un bătrân și dorește să facă asta. Alfred are aproape 12 ani. Știm că din cauza raselor sale, cu particularitățile ei, și vârstei, va fi dificil să găsim o casă pentru bătrân, dar ne așteptăm cu drag la iubitorii de câini bătrâni. Alfred este un reprezentant tipic al rasei sale: afecționat, puțin capabil, cu un instinct de vânătoare încă activ și ar fi dispus să vândă mătușa lui pentru o gustare. Iernile din adăpost sunt foarte aspre și oasele tale vechi vor avea o poveste grea. Ne simțim mai mult durere cu fiecare zi trecută în adăpost pentru câinii bătrâni. Alfred is a loving but grumpy grandfather, actually a very funny and affectionate dog, but the shelter environment doesn’t suit him. Here at the shelter he has become a fearful old man who sometimes fights back with his little teeth. But when he trusts someone, it’s just lovely. When volunteers take him out of the enclosure to spend time with him in the yard, you can see this little guy blossom and begin to glow. He also enjoys walks very much and, in typical Podengo style, loves to dig and jump after mice. What this grandfather needs more than anything is a family to give him peace of mind. He would be an ideal candidate for leisurely walks and can live with other dogs, although these should not be extremely energetic, as our Alfred is no longer a fast youngster. But that doesn’t mean it’s old and rusty or requires special care. He can still enjoy adventures befitting an older man and wishes to do so. Alfred is almost 12 years old. We know that due to his breed, with its peculiarities, and his age, it will not be easy to find a home for grandpa, but we look forward to senior dog lovers. Alfred is a typical representative of his breed: affectionate, a bit stubborn, with a still active hunting instinct, and would be willing to sell his grandmother for a treat. The winters in the shelter are very harsh and your old bones will have a hard time. We especially ache with each passing day at the shelter for the older dogs.
