Alfred est un grand-père affectueux mais grognon, en réalité un chien très drôle et affectueux, mais l'environnement de la clinique ne lui convient pas. Ici à la clinique, il est devenu un vieil homme timide qui parfois se défend avec ses petites dents. Mais quand il fait confiance à quelqu'un, c'est tout simplement merveilleux. Lorsque les bénévoles le sortent de son enclos pour passer du temps avec lui dans la cour, on peut voir ce petit bonhomme s'épanouir et commencer à briller. Il adore également les promenades et, à la manière typique du Podengo, il aime creuser et sauter après les souris. Ce grand-père a besoin plus que tout d'une famille pour avoir la paix. Il serait un candidat idéal pour des promenades tranquilles et peut vivre avec d'autres chiens, bien que ceux-ci ne soient pas trop énergiques, car notre Alfred n'est plus un jeune vif. Mais cela ne veut pas dire qu'il est vieux et rouillé ou qu'il a besoin de soins spéciaux. Il peut encore profiter d'aventures dignes d'un homme plus âgé et le souhaite. Alfred a presque 12 ans. Nous savons que, en raison de sa race, avec ses particularités, et de son âge, il ne sera pas facile de trouver une maison pour le grand-père, mais nous attendons les amateurs de chiens âgés. Alfred est un représentant typique de sa race : affectueux, un peu têtu, avec un instinct de chasse toujours actif, et serait prêt à vendre sa grand-mère pour un friand. Les hivers en clinique sont très durs et vos vieilles os auront du mal. Nous souffrons particulièrement chaque jour à la clinique pour les chiens plus âgés. Alfred is a loving but grumpy grandfather, actually a very funny and affectionate dog, but the shelter environment doesn’t suit him. Here at the shelter he has become a fearful old man who sometimes fights back with his little teeth. But when he trusts someone, it’s just lovely. When volunteers take him out of the enclosure to spend time with him in the yard, you can see this little guy blossom and begin to glow. He also enjoys walks very much and, in typical Podengo style, loves to dig and jump after mice. What this grandfather needs more than anything is a family to give him peace of mind. He would be an ideal candidate for leisurely walks and can live with other dogs, although these should not be extremely energetic, as our Alfred is no longer a fast youngster. But that doesn’t mean it’s old and rusty or requires special care. He can still enjoy adventures befitting an older man and wishes to do so. Alfred is almost 12 years old. We know that due to his breed, with its peculiarities, and his age, it will not be easy to find a home for grandpa, but we look forward to senior dog lovers. Alfred is a typical representative of his breed: affectionate, a bit stubborn, with a still active hunting instinct, and would be willing to sell his grandmother for a treat. The winters in the shelter are very harsh and your old bones will have a hard time. We especially ache with each passing day at the shelter for the older dogs.
