Alfred är en kärlekfull men grumpig farfar, faktiskt en mycket rolig och kärleksfull hund, men boendet på djurhemmet passar inte honom. Här på djurhemmet har han blivit en rädd gammal man som ibland försvarar sig med sina liten tänder. Men när han förlitar sig på någon är det bara underbart. När frivilliga tar ut honom ur buren för att lämna tiden med honom i trädgården kan man se denna lilla gubbe blomstra och börja glömma. Han älskar också promenader mycket och, i typisk Podengo-stil, älskar han att gräva och hoppa efter möss. Det som denna farfar behöver mest är en familj som ger honom lugn. Han skulle vara idealisk för långsamma promenader och kan leva med andra hundar, även om dessa inte ska vara extremt energiska, eftersom vår Alfred inte längre är en snabb ungling. Men det betyder inte att han är gammal och rostig eller kräver särskild vård. Han kan fortfarande njuta av äventyr som passar en äldre man och önskar att göra det. Alfred är nästan 12 år gammal. Vi vet att det på grund av hans ras, med dess egenskaper, och hans ålder inte kommer att vara lätt att hitta ett hem till farfar, men vi ser fram emot älskare av äldre hundar. Alfred är en typisk representative av sin ras: kärleksfull, lite stursk, med en fortfarande aktiv jakthungrighet och skulle vara villig att sälja sin farmor för en belöning. Vinter på djurhemmet är mycket hårt och dina gamla knoklar kommer att ha svårt. Vi känner smärtan varje dag mer och mer på djurhemmet för de äldre hundarna. Alfred is a loving but grumpy grandfather, actually a very funny and affectionate dog, but the shelter environment doesn’t suit him. Here at the shelter he has become a fearful old man who sometimes fights back with his little teeth. But when he trusts someone, it’s just lovely. When volunteers take him out of the enclosure to spend time with him in the yard, you can see this little guy blossom and begin to glow. He also enjoys walks very much and, in typical Podengo style, loves to dig and jump after mice. What this grandfather needs more than anything is a family to give him peace of mind. He would be an ideal candidate for leisurely walks and can live with other dogs, although these should not be extremely energetic, as our Alfred is no longer a fast youngster. But that doesn’t mean it’s old and rusty or requires special care. He can still enjoy adventures befitting an older man and wishes to do so. Alfred is almost 12 years old. We know that due to his breed, with its peculiarities, and his age, it will not be easy to find a home for grandpa, but we look forward to senior dog lovers. Alfred is a typical representative of his breed: affectionate, a bit stubborn, with a still active hunting instinct, and would be willing to sell his grandmother for a treat. The winters in the shelter are very harsh and your old bones will have a hard time. We especially ache with each passing day at the shelter for the older dogs.
