A fost ca un bătrân când era bebeluș, atât el, cât și fratele său, cu pielea plină de riduri și fără păr. Încet, dar sigur a început să-și recapăte părul, pielea i-a crescut, iar fața care avea o tristețe a strălucit. Button s-a vindecat, a crescut și a devenit un câine minunat și blând. Este un caine mărunt bun și cooperant, foarte bun, puțin ezitant la început, însă totuși cooperant și iubit. Nu este că merita mai mult un loc de casă decât alte animale, doar pentru că a trecut prin greutăți, dar îl vedem în adăpost, ne amintim cum a fost, cât a suferit și cât de puternic a rămas, iar ne face rău că nu a găsit familia lui. Am spune că nu a găsit-o pentru că a tras păr negru și maro în loc de alb și curb, dar nu vrem să ne plângem. Nu este singurul care așteaptă, și poate va mai aștepta mult timp. Există animale ca el în mod infinit, doar că pentru fiecare dintre ele, nu există vieți infinite, există doar una, a lor. Button nu este cel mai sociabil câine din lume, nici cel mai confortabil.
