Ele era como um velho quando era filhote, tanto ele quanto seu irmão, com rugas e sem pelo. E lentamente ele começou a crescer o pelo novamente, sua pele ficou mais alongada e seu rosto que tinha tristeza brilhou. Button se recuperou, cresceu e tornou-se um cão maravilhoso e doce. Ele é um filhote bom e cooperativo, muito bom, um pouco hesitante no início, mas mesmo assim cooperativo e carinhoso. Não é que ele mereça mais um lar do que outros animais, simplesmente porque teve uma vida difícil, mas vemos ele no abrigo, lembramos como ele era, quão sofreu e quão forte ele foi, e nos entristece que ele ainda não tenha encontrado sua família. Diríamos que ele ainda não a encontrou porque ela tirou cabelos pretos e marrons em vez de brancos e encaracolados, mas não queremos reclamar. Ele não é o único esperando, e talvez ele continue esperando por muito tempo. Animais como ele existem infinitamente, mas para cada um deles, não há vidas infinitas, há apenas uma, a deles. Button não é o cão mais sociável do mundo, nem o mais aconchegante. Ele tem medo das coisas que não conhece e das pessoas que não conhece.
