A avut un sesiune foto Lucy! Multumim mult fotograful voluntar, Jane Jeffrey, pentru aceste fotografii frumoase ale Lucyei pentru noi! Cățelușul mic Lucy este un Dachshund de 11 ani (DOB: 15/03/2015) care a intrat în salvarea Oldies Club după ce stăpâna ei a decedat tragic. Este temporar într-o casă de îngrijire în Jedburgh pentru câteva săptămâni, după care se va întoarce la casa de îngrijire inițială din Newcastle upon Tyne, cu excepția cazului în care găsește o casă permanentă înainte. Rezumat: Lucy este o fată resemnată dar activă, cu greutatea de 12,5 kg și înălțime de 36 cm (14`). Poate fi singurul câine sau poate trăi cu un câine calm, mai în vârstă, nu prea mare. Are nevoie de o casă doar pentru adulți, dar copiii care o respectă ar putea veni și ar putea trăi cu un pisică sigură. Îi place compania umană, dar poate fi lăsată când trebuie să pleci. Îi place două sau trei plimbări de jumătate de oră pe zi. Poate merge mai mult dacă dorești! A adaptat treptat: Lucy a trecut un timp destul de lung să se obișnuiască cu mediul nou din îngrijire și cu pierderea umanului ei. A fost foarte bine comportată, dar s-a retras de la îngrijitorii ei până a realizat că sunt încredere și blânde. Încă are tendința să fie resemnată față de camere, motiv pentru care a avut nevoie de o sesiune foto! Poate fi lăsată pentru 2-3 ore: Când Lucy a ajuns prima dată în salvare, nu voia deloc să fie lăsată singură. Dar îngrijitorul ei a reușit să o obișnuiească treptat cu ideea de a fi lăsată și acum poate sta câteva ore. Acum e obișnuită, dar face pufoi, mănâncă un tratament și apoi se culcă. Ar dori probabil o casă unde cineva este acasă majoritatea zilei. Poate trăi cu un câine calm: Lucy este destul de bună cu alți câini atunci când sunt afară, cu condiția ca ei nu să vină să se arunce asupra ei sau să stea prea sus, în caz contrar ea va face o mustrare pentru a le spune să se retragă. Ea este ok cu câinele femeie Jack Russell din casa de îngrijire și îngrijitoarea ei spune: "Lucy poate trăi cu un alt câine, dar doar dacă este un câine calm, în vârstă și nu prea mare. Ea este ok cu câinele meu acum, doar că face propriul ei lucru, dar este suficient de fericit când Penny este aproape de ea și merg împreună destul de bine. Fiind un câine atât de pașnic, se crede că ar putea trăi cu o pisică care cunoaște câinii după introduceri atente. Casa doar pentru adulți: Lucy este foarte resemnată și poate găsi copiii prea mult. Au fost copii mici care au vizitat casa de îngrijire și ea tinde să rămână la distanță sigură și evită interacțiunea cu ei. Ea ar putea suporta vizitele ocazionale ale nepotului ei în casa de pensie, dar probabil se va muta din situație până când va fi liberă din nou. Aranjamentele de somn: Lucy doarme în patul ei în camera îngrijitorilor ei. Părea să fi împărțit patul stăpânului ei, deoarece uneori încearcă să se urce pe pat. Doarme foarte bine, se culcă repede și râde fericit. Îi place să se culce târziu, în patul ei confortabil. Iubește plimbările – recunoaștere excelentă: Lucy iubește o plimbare și mersul ei este excelent atât pe când e legată, cât și fără. Se menține lângă tine și te așteaptă. Va opri/astepta când îi spui să facă asta, deoarece este un câine disciplinat și are o recunoaștere excelentă. Are în prezent două sau trei plimbări pe zi de aproximativ 30 minute până la o oră. Are picioare scurte, dar îi place o plimbare lungă, evitând bălți adânci, natural. Nu e fan de mașină, dar este bună: Trebuie să ridici Lucy în mașină, dar se calmează și este liniștită. În mașina mică a îngrijitorului ei, Lucy călătorește pe locul din față cu un harnas. În mașina mai mare călătorește în spate pe un pernă cu un dispozitiv de fixare. Nu îi place deloc să fie într-un coș/cage, nici în mașină, nici în casă. Preferințele lui Lucy: Somn, plimbări, mâncare și fiind alături de umanul ei. Disprețurile lui Lucy: Este un câine timid și se resemnează față de oamenii necunoscuți și situații, dar nu pare să o strice prea mult – doar se îndepărtează și se mută rațional din situație. În trecut, îi displacea să fie lăsată singură, dar îngrijitorii ei au lucrat la acest aspect și deși încă preferă compania, poate fi lăsată pentru perioade scurte. Casa ideală pentru Lucy: O persoană activă în vârstă sau un cuplu ar fi potrivit pentru Lucy, cineva care este acasă majoritatea timpului, dar totuși are capacitatea de a o duce la plimbări excitanți pe care le iubește. Note privind sănătatea: Lucy este sterilizată, vaccinată, microchipată și a fost deparazitată și tratată împotriva păcănoaselor. La verificarea la veterinar, Lucy a fost considerată sănătoasă. Lucy's had a photoshoot! Huge thanks to photography volunteer, Jane Jeffrey , for taking these lovely photos of Lucy for us! Cute little Lucy is an 11-year-old Dachshund (DOB: 15/03/2015) who came into the Oldies Club rescue after her owner sadly passed away. She is temporarily in a foster home in Jedburgh for a few weeks, after which she will be returning to her original foster home in Newcastle upon Tyne, unless she finds her forever home in the meantime. Summary: Lucy is a shy but active girl, weighing 12.5kg and she’s 36cm (14″) tall. She could either be an only dog, or live with a non-tall calm older dog. She needs an adult-only home, but visiting children who respect her space would be OK and she might be able to live with a confident cat. She loves human company but can be left when you need to go out. She enjoys two or three half-hour walks a day. She can keep going for longer if you want though! Gradually settled in: Lucy took quite a while to get used to her new surroundings in foster care and having lost her human. She was impeccably well behaved but would shy away from her foster carers until she eventually realised they were trustworthy and kind. She's still camera shy though, hence the need for a photoshoot! Can be left for 2-3 hours: When Lucy first arrived in rescue, she didn't like to be left alone at all. But her foster carer has got her used to being left gradually and can leave her for a few hours. She is used to this now, but sulks a bit, eats a treat, and then settles down to sleep. She would ideally love a home where someone is around for most of the day. Could live with a calm dog: Lucy is pretty good with other dogs out and about as long as they don't bounce up to her or loom over her, in which case she'll air snap to tell them to back off. She is fine the resident female Jack Russell in her foster home and her foster carer says: "Lucy could live with another dog as long as it is a calm, older dog and not too tall. She is okay with my dog now, she still just does her own thing, but is happy enough when Penny is near her and they bump along quite happily. She just hates tall dogs who stand over her or young bouncy dogs" . Could live with a confident cat: Lucy hasn't shown any interest in cats she sees outside, even the next door neighbour's cat. In fact, she doesn't seem to have much of a prey drive at all, as she ignores squirrels and doesn't play with toys. Being such a peaceable dog, it's thought she could live with a dog-savvy cat after careful introductions. Adult-only home: Lucy is very shy and can find children a bit too much. There have been young children visiting her foster home and she tends to keep to a safe distance and avoid interacting with them. She would cope with the occasional visiting grandchild in her retirement home, but probably by removing herself from the situation until the coast was clear again. Sleeping arrangements: Lucy sleeps in her own bed in her foster carers' bedroom. It seems that she may have shared her owner’s bed because she will try to get up on the bed sometimes. Lucy sleeps really well, spark out and snoring happily. She loves having a lie in, in her snuggly bed. Loves walks – excellent recall: Lucy loves a walk and she walks really well both on and off the lead. She stays near you and will wait for you. She will also stop/wait when told to do so, as she's an obedient girl and her recall is excellent. She currently has two or three walks a day of about 30 minutes to an hour. She might have short legs but she loves a long walk, avoiding deep puddles, naturally. Not fond of the car but is good: You have to lift Lucy in to the car, but she settles and is quiet. In her foster carer’s small car, Lucy travels on the front seat with a clip harness. In the larger car she travels in the back on a cushion with a leash clip on. She does not like being in a cage/basket at all, neither in the car nor in house. Lucy’s favourite pastimes: Sleeping, walking, eating and just being with her human. Lucy’s dislikes: She is a timid dog and shies away from unknown people and situations, but it doesn’t seem to overly stress her out – she just steps away and sensibly removes herself from the situation. She used to dislike being left alone but her foster carers have been working on this and although she still prefers to have company, she can be left for short periods. Lucy’s ideal home: An active older person or couple would suit Lucy, someone that is home most of the time but still has the ability to take her for the exciting walks that she loves. Health notes: Lucy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has been wormed and flea treated. At her vet check, Lucy was pronounced fit and healthy. She has a slightly high liver count, so recently had a scan, but everything was fine. It might be a good idea to give her a regular liver support supplement. More from Lucy’s foster carer: “ Lucy is a timid, sweet little dog – unless you are knocking on the front door, and then she sounds like the biggest guard dog ever! She will let you know when someone is coming to the house. However, she is fine when they come in, does not jump up at visitors, just lets you know, loudly, that they are there.
