Isadora este un câine de mărime medie, cu vârsta între 2 și 3 ani. Isadora a fost adusă în cătuiașul public Botosani din România, împreună cu un număr nesfârșit de surori și frați, când era doar un pui de câine. Este un exemplu de ce lucrăm atât de mult pentru a scoate toți caii de la timp. A crescut acolo, a petrecut adolescența acolo, niciodată vedând lumea din afara penții ei de beton. A pierdut distracția și atitudinea fără griji a tinereții, fiind concentrată doar pe supraviețuire. Când am întâlnit-o la doi ani, a învățat să fie precaută față de unele persoane și nu a experimentat mai mult decât senzația ierbii sub picioare. A ajuns aici cu câteva săptămâni în urmă și a trebuit să învețe totul de la zero. După cum se poate vedea din fotografiile ei, fata a învățat bine și destul de repede! Acum este o caracter personal curajos care încearcă să-și ia locul în pachet în casa de îngrijire. Este instigatorul majorității jocurilor, încearcă să ne ia prăjiturile când avem pauză cu cafeaua (păcat capital), iar în general este curioasă față de tot. Isadora iubește să stea alături de noi, va fi foarte entuziasmată când cineva vine și o va „bătă” cu nasul, dar este încă foarte stresată când e mângâiată și încearcă să transforme orice încercare de drag și afectiune în alt joc. Partea de iubire va veni cu timpul și este ceva ce poate învăța în primele săptămâni și luni în casa sa definitivă. Va avea nevoie de un adoptant răbdător și înțelept cu cel puțin un alt câine care să îi corespundă jucăușiei și energiei. În timpul plimbărilor câștigă în încredere și vom, desigur, continua antrenamentul pentru frânghie în timp ce este cu noi. Dar este gata să plece acum și să continue dezvoltarea și creșterea în mediul în care va petrece restul vieții. Isadora va avea nevoie de un adoptant experimentat care să înțeleagă tot ceea ce a lipsit în viața ei timpurie. Va avea nevoie de răbdare și ghidare, dar deja arată cum va fi mare odată ce ultimele sale teamă vor fi învins. Ar putea trăi cu copii respectuoși cu vârsta de 12 ani și peste. Acest câine a trecut testul pentru pisici, așa că poate trăi cu pisici pricepute. Isadora a fost asistată la Norwich Norfolk. Câini bătrâni (peste 10 ani): £150–£250 (în funcție de vârstă și nevoia individuală). Politica de Adoptare Când adoptați un câine de la Safe Rescue, trebuie să folosiți o frânghie de tip slip. Aceasta va menține câinele vostru în siguranță: noua vostre prietenie va fi nervoasă și nu va avea încredere în voi, iar voi nu veți ști ce situații pot irita câinele. Dacă câinele vostru se paniquează, atunci o frânghie de tip slip este singura modalitate de a preveni scaparea câinelui (multe animale pot scăpa din halat și/sau harnişor). Va dura cel puțin 3-6 luni pentru ca câinele să se adapteze și pentru voi să-l cunoașteți complet (mai mult pentru câinii nervoși). Frânghia de tip slip trebuie folosită întotdeauna în această perioadă de adaptare. Chiar și după ce câinele s-a adaptat, este mai sigur să folosiți frânghia de tip slip în situații unde câinele ar putea fi speriat (de ex. vizitarea unor locuri noi, în jurul oamenilor necunoscuți, la medicul veterinar), precum și în situații unde pot apărea declanșatori inașteptati (de ex. în apropierea nopții focurilor). Câinii nervoși pot purta mereu o frânghie de tip slip ca măsură de siguranță suplimentară. Frânghia de tip slip este un dispozitiv de siguranță și nu trebuie niciodată folosită ca instrument de antrenament. Folosirea frânghiei pentru a aplica presiune pe gâtul câinelui este dăunătoare. Dacă câinele trage în frânghie, atunci vă putem oferi sfaturi privind metodele de antrenament care evită daunele. Odată ce câinele se va adapta, poate dori să folosiți un harnişor (împreună cu frânghia de tip slip) dacă câinele este confortabil atunci când este pus. Majoritatea harnişoarelor nu sunt sigure împotriva scăpării, dar harnişoarele cu o bandă spatele coastelor (ex. Ruffwear Webmaster sau Perfect Fit Harnişoare) sunt mai sigure. Frânghii retracibile / extensibile nu trebuie folosite niciodată pe câinii noștri. Câinii adoptați trebuie recoltați de la adăpost și transportați direct acasă într-un cui. Zăbrelele și ușile trebuie să aibă minim 1,5 m și să fie sigure. Toți câinii sunt vaccinați, microchipați și sterilizați (dacă nu sunt prea tineri pentru a fi sterilizați). Isadora is a two to three year old medium sized crossbreed. Isadora was taken into the Botosani public shelter in Romania, along with an unremembered number of siblings, when she was just a baby. She is an example of why we work so hard to get all pups out while they are still pups. She grew up there, spent her adolescence there, never seeing the outside of her concrete pen. She missed out on the silliness and care free attitude of youth because she was concentrating on staying alive. When we met her at two years old she had learnt to be cautious of some people and she hadn’t experienced as much as the feeling of grass under her feet. She arrived here a few weeks ago and she had to learn it all from scratch. As you can see from her pics, the girl has learnt well and she has learnt pretty fast! She is now a cheeky character who dares to push herself forward in the pack in her foster home. She is the instigator of most of the games, she tries to take our cake when we have a coffee break (cardinal sin) and she is generally curious about everything. Isadora loves to be around us, she will get so excited when anyone comes round and she will boop them with her nose, but she is still very tense when stroked and will try to change any attempts of love and affection into another game. The loving bit will come with time and it’s something she can learn over the first weeks and months in her forever home. She will need a patient and understanding adopter with at least one other dog that will match her playfulness and energy. She is gaining confidence on walks and we will, of course, continue her lead training while she’s with us. But she is ready to move on now and continue her development and growth in the environment she gets to spend the rest of her life in. Isadora will need an experienced adopter who will understand all that she was deprived of in her early life. She will need patience and guidance but is already showing how great she will be once her last fears are overcome. She could live with respectful children aged twelve plus. Adoption Policy When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a crate. Fences and gates must be 5ft min & secure.
