Maya, un câine mix Mastin, împreună cu Leon, au fost aduși la adăpost într-un mod foarte particular, de oameni foarte ciudați. Ambii câini erau supuși unui sedativ puternic, sub influența medicamentelor, probabil pastile calmante pe care le-a obținut o pereche bătrână de la un veterinar. Câinii trebuiau aduși cu cărucioare, așa de sub influența lor. În afară de faptul că au fost aduși la adăpost într-un mod greșit, oamenii s-au dus apoi, iar singura informație neîncredere pe care o avem este că, aparent, Maya și Leon au fost lăsați la proprietatea vecinului lor. Sunt amândoi polari mari și pufoși, care iubesc să fie în preajma oamenilor, dar în același timp sunt suficient de independenți pentru a rămâne singuri sau să-și facă treaba lor în parcurile pentru câini, fără a avea nevoie de companie constantă. Maya este dulce și veselă, și îi place să vină la tine pentru îmbrățișări din când în când, în timpul tău petrecut afară cu ea. În ciuda mărimii sale, merge foarte frumos și liniștit pe lanț, iar prezența ei este plăcută, nu supărătoare, așa cum este uneori asociată cu acest tip de câini. Maya și Leon sunt foarte asemănători ca aspect, așa că credem că sunt într-un fel înrudiți. Se îngrijoră unul pe celălalt, se curăță reciproc și joacă împreună, deși chiar jocul lor este destul de lipsit de energie și liniștit. Deși Leon are un prezență mai dominantă, Maya este mai supusă și modestă. Desigur ar fi minunat dacă cei doi ar putea intra într-o casă de țară împreună, dar nu este absolut necesar. Maya este disponibilă și pentru adoptare individuală, fie ca singur câine al unei case, unde ea ar petrece mare parte din timp alături de omul ei, fie către o casă cu alt câine (în momentul de față se preferă masculii, deoarece Maya nu a fost încă testată cu femele, dar poate fi testată la cerere). Dacă există alt câine în familie, ea este perfect în regulă să stea ore în șir singură, doar privind grădina, dormind pe iarbă. Înălțimea ei la șold este puțin peste 70 cm, făcând-o o fată mare, frumoasă și cu inimă blândă.

Maya the Mastin-Mix, together with Leon, were brought to the shelter in a very particular way, by really strange people. Both of the dogs were heavily sedated, under drugs, apparently calming pills that the older couple had obtained from a veterinary. The dogs had to be wheeled in with carts, that's how heavily under influence they were. Aside from the fact that they were brought to the shelter in a very incorrect manner, the people then ran away, and the only piece of untrustworthy information that we have, is that apparently Maya & Leon were left at their neighbor's property. They are both huge fluffy polar bears, who love to be around humans, but at the same time are also independent enough to stay alone, or do mind their own business in the dog parks, without needing constant companionship. Maya is sweet and cheerful, and she likes to come to you for cuddles every now and then during your time outside with her. Regardless of her size, she walks very nicely and calmly on the leash, and her presence is pleasant, not overwhelming, as sometimes is associated with this size of dogs. Maya and Leon are very similar in their appearance, so we believe they are related in some way. They care a lot for each other, groom each other and play together, though even their play is quite low-energy and calm. While Leon has more of a dominant presence, Maya is more submissive, and modest. Of course it would be great if the two of them could move to a country home together, but it is not an absolute must. Maya is also available for an individual adoption either as an only dog of a home, where she could spend most of the time together with her human, or to a home with another dog (at the moment males preferred, as Maya has not yet been tested with females, but can be tested upon request). If there is another dog in the family, she is totally fine to spend hours alone, just watching the yard, snoozing on the grass. Her shoulder height is a bit over 70cm, making her really a big, lovely, kind-hearted girl.
