Maya a Mastin-Mix, juntamente com Leon, foram trazidas ao abrigo de uma forma muito particular, por pessoas realmente estranhas. Ambos os cães estavam fortemente sedados, sob drogas, aparentemente pílulas calmantes que o casal mais velho obteve de um veterinário. Os cães tiveram que ser levados em carrinhos, era assim que pesados estavam sob influência. Além do fato de terem sido trazidos ao abrigo de uma maneira muito incorreta, as pessoas então fugiram, e a única informação não confiável que temos é que aparentemente Maya & Leon foram deixados na propriedade do vizinho. Ambos são grandes ursos polares peludos, que adoram ficar perto das pessoas, mas ao mesmo tempo são independentes o suficiente para ficar sozinhos ou se ocuparem de seus próprios assuntos nos parques caninos, sem precisar de companhia constante. Maya é doce e alegre, e ela gosta de vir até você para abraços de vez em quando durante o seu tempo fora com ela. Independentemente do seu tamanho, ela caminha muito bem e calmamente na coleira, e a sua presença é agradável, não esmagadora, como às vezes é associado a cães desse porte. Maya e Leon são muito semelhantes em aparência, então achamos que eles estão relacionados de alguma forma. Eles se cuidam mutuamente e brincam juntos, embora até mesmo suas brincadeiras sejam bastante de baixa energia e calmas. Enquanto Leon tem uma presença mais dominante, Maya é mais submissa e modesta. Claro que seria ótimo se os dois pudessem se mudar para uma casa no campo juntos, mas não é absolutamente essencial. Maya também está disponível para adoção individual, seja como único cão de uma casa, onde ela poderia passar a maior parte do tempo junto com seu humano, ou para uma casa com outro cão (no momento, machos são preferidos, pois Maya ainda não foi testada com fêmeas, mas pode ser testada mediante solicitação). Se houver outro cão na família, ela fica totalmente feliz em passar horas sozinha, apenas observando o quintal, dormindo no gramado. A altura dos ombros dela é um pouco acima de 70 cm, fazendo dela uma menina realmente grande, linda e de coração gentil.

Maya the Mastin-Mix, together with Leon, were brought to the shelter in a very particular way, by really strange people. Both of the dogs were heavily sedated, under drugs, apparently calming pills that the older couple had obtained from a veterinary. The dogs had to be wheeled in with carts, that's how heavily under influence they were. Aside from the fact that they were brought to the shelter in a very incorrect manner, the people then ran away, and the only piece of untrustworthy information that we have, is that apparently Maya & Leon were left at their neighbor's property. They are both huge fluffy polar bears, who love to be around humans, but at the same time are also independent enough to stay alone, or do mind their own business in the dog parks, without needing constant companionship. Maya is sweet and cheerful, and she likes to come to you for cuddles every now and then during your time outside with her. Regardless of her size, she walks very nicely and calmly on the leash, and her presence is pleasant, not overwhelming, as sometimes is associated with this size of dogs. Maya and Leon are very similar in their appearance, so we believe they are related in some way. They care a lot for each other, groom each other and play together, though even their play is quite low-energy and calm. While Leon has more of a dominant presence, Maya is more submissive, and modest. Of course it would be great if the two of them could move to a country home together, but it is not an absolute must. Maya is also available for an individual adoption either as an only dog of a home, where she could spend most of the time together with her human, or to a home with another dog (at the moment males preferred, as Maya has not yet been tested with females, but can be tested upon request). If there is another dog in the family, she is totally fine to spend hours alone, just watching the yard, snoozing on the grass. Her shoulder height is a bit over 70cm, making her really a big, lovely, kind-hearted girl.
