Adoptera “No one sees you…we will”

Det är en historia om hopp, och lyckligtvis en som har ett bra slut. Vi är så tacksamma och stolta att kunna dela med oss av detta. Den osäkra och sorgliga livet för två unga hundar från Pico har nu förbättrats tack vare bestämdheten hos fyra kvinnor som har tagit på sig att hjälpa hundarna på Pico, var och en på sitt eget sätt. Vid åtta månader gammal hade dessa valpar redan upplevt neglect och misshandel. De bodde i ett "nästan" förskruvade hus där mat och vatten var skart, ännu mer så kontakt med en människa, särskilt med en person som vi skulle kalla en människa. En rapport till polisen gjorde det möjligt för deras historia att komma fram, så att de slutligen kunde SE. Se som djur som har försummats av sin mänskliga familj, levande i ett smutsigt miljö, med en kedja som orsakade en väldigt djup skada runt halsen och problem med pannorna, troligen orsakad av en dålig kost. Sandra, en värdefull anställd vid hundarnas skyddshus S.Roque på Pico, beslutade sig för att be Dania (PicoDogs Organization) om hjälp så att hundarna kunde steriliseras, mikrochippas och vaccineras. Allt gick utmärkt på veterinärkliniken Companhia Animal, där Beatriz och Sara tog särskilt omsorg om dem. Vissa kan tro att hundar som har upplevt så hemskt dåliga möten med människor kommer att visa undvikande, rädsla och kanske ens aggresiv beteende mot människor. Detta tanke skulle inte kunna vara mer fel. De är båda mycket snälla och mycket entusiastiska när det gäller att interagera och spela med någon mänsklig kamrat. Sandra kunde inte vänta längre och sökte direkt efter en ny adoptivfamilj. När deras återhämtning var färdig hjälpte vi hundarna att ta sig till sitt nya hem på ön Graciosa! Tack till Sandra, den nya adoptivfamiljen, Dania, Beatriz och Sara samt alla er som är redo att tala ut för alla oförskämda skapen på Pico som förtjänar en mer respektfull livsstil. Särskilt tack till veterinär Patricia som behandlade den värsta skadan på halsen. This is a story of hope and, luckily, one that has a good ending. We are so relieved and proud to be able to share with you. The uncertain, sad life of 2 young dogs from Pico has now changed for the better, thank to the determination of 4 women that have committed themselves to helping the dogs of Pico Island, each of them in their unique way. At 8 months of age these puppies had already experience neglection and abuse. Living in an “almost” abandoned house, food and water was scarce, even more so the contacts with a human being, especially with a person that we would define as one being human. A report to the police made their story come to the surface, so that they could finally be SEEN . Seen as creatures neglected by their human family, living in a filthy environment, with a chain that caused a terribly deep wound around the neck and with problems in their paws, probably caused by a poorly nutritious diet. Sandra , a precious employee working at the dog shelter of S.Roque in Pico Island, decided to ask for help to Dania ( PicoDogs Organization) so that the dogs could be sterilised, chipped and vaccinated. Everything ran beautifully at the vet clinic Companhia Animal , where Beatriz and Sara took special care of them. Some may think that dogs who have experienced such awfully bad encounters with humans will show avoidance, fear and even aggressive behaviour towards people. This idea could not be more wrong. They are both very sweet and very enthusiastic to interact and play with any human companion. Sandra could not wait any longer and immediately searched for a new adopting family. Once their recovery was complete, we helped the dogs to get to their new home on the island of Graciosa! Many thanks to Sandra, the new adopting family, Dania, Beatriz and Sara and to all of you that are ready to speak out for all the innocent creatures of Pico that deserve a more respectful life.
