I was born in 2021 and was first bred at six months, shockingly early. In the meat industry, the animals are exploited incredibly brutally. But I was not pregnant, not even after the second breeding, and then I was sorted out for slaughter. On May 14, 2022, I escaped the slaughterhouse along with the other sow-mothers Sola, Hope, and Agnes. We had the great fortune to be given a home at Schutzengel für Tiere. So I have the chance to hopefully have a long life as a foster sow because, unlike other sows, my body is not drained by giving birth to often hundreds of piglets. All breeding sows are regularly injected with a hormone so that they all become fertile at the same time. This way, they can all be bred at the same time. The hormone (PMSG = Pregnant Mare Serum Gonadotropin) is obtained from the blood of pregnant mare stags, which also suffer significantly for the production of this hormone. Horse lovers should therefore at least also not eat pork, and of course, for all animals and climate protection, it is naturally best to be vegan. Would you like to be my foster parent? Now fill out the foster parent declaration.
