Personality:Poppy is a nervous girl who struggled whilst in the cattery environment. She was in a foster home where she felt more comfortable to access her resources but she was still fearful of interactions with her carers. She liked having the comfort of her own room to return to if she is unsure. Her foster carers used a hands off approach to give Poppy choice and control over interactions. Whilst she was in foster, Poppy did not want to initiate for contact from her carers. Poppy is now in a quiet area of the cattery where she has an outside run space to make use of; due to fearful conflict around living in a home environment with her carers. Poppy is desperately awaiting for a fresh start with outdoor land to explore and a safe place to rest. Behaviour:Poppy choose to keep to herself whilst in the foster home; spending her day hiding away. She felt most comfortable coming out of her room to explore when the house was quiet from the evening onwards. Overnight, she would play with her toys and her foster carers could sometimes hear her getting the zoomies. Now she is back in the cattery environment, she now follows this same routine of resting during the day and becoming active overnight. Poppy’s adopters will need to continue the hands off approach to respect her boundaries. Housing:Due to Poppy coming from a multi-cat household, it is unknown whether she has had much positive interaction with people. For this reason, she would prefer to have a safe, secure, sheltered outbuilding. This can be in a spacious garden or an alternative similar set up. Considerations can be made for adopter’s who have a spare unused room downstairs, in which Poppy could have a direct, full and easy access to a large garden. e.g. through a cat-flap. Poppy’s adopters will need to use a hands off approach and live onsite to provide them with her essentials such as fresh food and water. It may be that she will prefer to live permanently like this but she may gradually build trust with her owners and surroundings and choose to live a more conventional lifestyle in a home. Providing photos of your set up along with your application will help to process your application further. Children/pets:Poppy will need to be cared and housed with adults only. She needs to be the only pet in the household/setting. Vet history:Poppy is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated. Poppy has no known medical conditions. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption. Adoption fee:The adoption fee is £50. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated. Additional information:All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal.
