Rupert is an 8-year-old Lurcher, believed to be a Whippet x Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross, and he truly is a gentleman in every sense of the word. From the moment you meet him, Rupert’s calm, polite nature shines through. He already knows his basic manners, happily sits on cue, offers both paws, and has excellent recall. He’s a pleasure to walk, strolling beautifully on the lead, Rupert takes everything in his stride and isn’t fazed by other dogs, making him a wonderfully easy companion to have by your side. When Rupert first arrived in our care, he could be quite vocal as he adjusted to his new surroundings. With patience, consistency, and gentle guidance, he has come on leaps and bounds. He’s learned when it’s time to chat and when it’s time to relax, and we’re incredibly proud of how well he has settled. Rupert has a playful side and enjoys a good game just as much as he loves spending quality time with his people. He’s incredibly affectionate, thrives on companionship, and will happily soak up all the fuss you’re willing to give. He’s also a very clean boy in his kennel, and his previous owner advised that he is house-trained. Rupert is great at letting you know when he needs to go outside for the toilet, making him an easy dog to welcome into a home environment. Rupert could happily live with dog-savvy children who understand how to respect a dog’s space. He may also be able to share his home with another dog, provided they have a similar calm, easy-going temperament pending successful introductions.
