Hope Rescue är den ledande hundvälfärdstiftelsen som räddar livet på gat- och försmälta samt oönskade hundar i Syd-Wales. Sedan 2005 har vår team gett tusentals hundar en ny start från våra anpassade lokaler i Rhondda Cynon Taf. Vi kommer att ta emot alla gathundar från sex lokalmyndigheter i Syd-Wales – Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, Blaenau Gwent, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend och den västra halvan av Vale of Glamorgan – oavsett ålder, ras eller medicinskt tillstånd. Vi hjälper de mest sårbara hundarna i våra lokala samhällen, samarbetar nära med lokalmyndigheter i Syd-Wales för att stödja dem med sina gathundar och hundar som hämtats från låg välfärd eller olagliga raser. Vi förbereder hundar för en ny chans på ett lyckligt liv, tar tid att bedöma deras behov och hitta den perfekta hemmet. Vi erbjuder också värdefullt stöd till djurägare i nöd som behöver omhushålla sina djur. Hope Rescue kämpar aktivt för förbättringar av djurvälfärdslagen och tillämpningen, och erbjuder stöd och råd till allmänheten om ansvarsfull hundägarskap. Efter att ha fungerat från kommersiella bostäder och fosterhem i 12 år köpte vi och flyttade in i vår egen räddningscentral i Llanharan, Syd-Wales, i april 2017. Sedan vi flyttade till vår Llanharan-plats har vi hjälpt mer än 5 700 hundar. Vår central har 62 räddningsburar, utrymmen för träningsaktiviteter, ett inomhusutbildningscenter och 18 acres privata skogar. Vi hjälper för närvarande cirka 800 hundar per år och, utöver omhushållning från vår räddningscentral, arbetar vi också med andra räddningar, inklusive Blue Cross, Dogs Trust och Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, för att ta våra hundar. Vi har RSPCA Platinum Pawprints-priset för burar. Våra fantastiska frivilliga fosterhem hjälper också med ytterligare kapacitet när vi är upptagna. Vi har charitetsbutiker i Blackwood, Merthyr Tydfil, Pontyclun och Pontypridd, som samlar in pengar till hundarna i vår vård. Vi håller händelser under året, inklusive hundutställningar i lokala samhällen, och vår flaggskeppshändelse Barking Mad i augusti. Hope Rescue is the leading dog welfare charity that saves the lives of strays, abandoned and unwanted dogs in South Wales. Since 2005, our team has given a second chance to thousands of dogs that need a new start, from our dedicated facilities in Rhondda Cynon Taf. We commit to take all the stray dogs from six Local Authorities in South Wales - Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, Blaenau Gwent, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend and the western half of the Vale of Glamorgan - irrespective of their age, breed, or medical condition. We help the most vulnerable dogs in our local communities, working closely with Local Authorities across South Wales to support them with their stray dogs and dogs seized from low welfare or illegal breeders. We prepare dogs for their second chance at a happy life, taking time to assess their needs and find the perfect home. We also provide valuable support to pet owners in crisis who need to rehome their pets. Hope Rescue actively campaigns for improvements to animal welfare legislation and enforcement, and provides support and advice to the public on responsible dog ownership. After operating from commercial boarding kennels and foster homes for 12 years we finally purchased and moved into our own rescue centre in Llanharan, South Wales in April 2017. Since moving to our Llanharan site, we have helped more than 5,700 dogs. Our centre has 62 rescue kennels, exercise paddocks, an indoor training centre, and 18 acres of private woodland. We currently help around 800 dogs a year and, as well as rehoming from our rescue centre, we also work with other rescues, including Blue Cross, Dogs Trust and Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, to take our dogs. We hold the RSPCA Platinum Pawprints award for kennelling. Our amazing volunteer foster homes also help with additional capacity when we are under pressure. This enables us to significantly increase the number of dogs we can help. We recently launched a new community programme, Hope in the community. This will focus on providing support to dog owners across South Wales including community outreach days, one-to-one support for dog owners struggling with their pet’s welfare and own wellbeing and supporting professionals and members of community organisations to respond to the needs of dog owners and develop good practice on dog related issues affecting communities. We have charity shops in Blackwood, Merthyr Tydfil, Pontyclun, Cowbridge, Talbot Green and Pontypridd, raising funds for the dogs in our care. We hold events throughout the year, including dog shows in local communities, and our flagship Barking Mad events in August.
