Adopt Adonis

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 10 years

ADONIS ♥️ Medium-sized, cute dog. About 10 years old. Weight 12 kg and height 40 cm. His previous life was not (tactfully speaking) colorful, so Adonis will not immediately run to us with a wagging tail to greet. He needs some time to gain trust in the people he is with. When this happens, the dog transforms into a completely different dog. Therefore, patience, calmness and gentleness in words or gestures and the result is impressive. In the animal shelter, he has already built trust with the people who take care of him. He is happy to see them, very willingly goes for walks, the longer the better, where he can feel a hint of freedom and independence. Moreover, he is very curious, alert and crazy but there is no aggression in him. He accepts the company of other dogs, but with cats you have to work a bit :) We are looking for a home for Adonis, where he will be loved and will never be harassed on a leash again.

𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐒 ♥️ Średniej wielkości, uroczy psiak. W wieku około 10 lat. Wagowo 12 kg i 40 cm. Dotychczasowe jego życie nie było (delikatnie mówiąc) kolorowe dlatego Adonis nie od razu przybiegnie do nas z merdającym ogonkiem aby przywitać się. On potrzebuje trochę czasu aby zyskać zaufanie do osób z którymi przebywa.

About Adonis

What life with Adonis looks like

Adonis is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Adonis, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Adonis?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Adonis on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Adonis if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Adonis already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Adonis isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Adonis and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
