Your Right to Data Deletion

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. TailHarbor is committed to respecting this right and making the process straightforward.

What Data We Delete

Upon receiving a valid deletion request, we will permanently remove:

  • Your account information (name, email, profile picture)
  • Saved favourites and search preferences
  • Contact enquiry history
  • Any other personal data associated with your account

What We Cannot Delete

Certain data may be retained where required by law or legitimate interest:

  • Anonymised analytics data (not linked to your identity)
  • Data required for legal compliance or dispute resolution
  • Contact enquiries already forwarded to shelters (you should contact the shelter directly for their records)

How to Request Deletion

You can request data deletion in the following ways:

Option 1: Delete Your Account

If you have a TailHarbor account, you can delete it directly from your account settings. This will immediately remove your account and all associated data.

Option 2: Email Us

Send a deletion request to privacy@tailharbor.eu with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Please include the email address associated with your account so we can locate your data.

Processing Time

We will process your deletion request within 30 days of receiving it, as required by the GDPR. You will receive a confirmation email once your data has been deleted.

Facebook & Instagram Data

If you have interacted with TailHarbor through Facebook or Instagram, you can also manage your data through Meta's settings:

  • Go to Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites
  • Find TailHarbor and click Remove
  • This will revoke our access to any data obtained through Facebook/Instagram
