About Adopt Jessie
Jessie is a shy girl who is adapting to life with us since arriving recently as a stray. With time and patience Jessie has built close relationships with our team and with a patient owner we are sure will transition well into a new home. Jessie initially found the rescue environment overwhelming and would hide away, after some gentle coaxing from the team (and a lot of tasty sausages) Jessie soon learnt the good things, a walk could bring. Jessie now runs about in our paddocks and as you can see from her photo she loves playtime with a toy. Jessie is generally reserved with new people and likes to investigate in her own time, her curiosity takes over when a treat is on offer and it doesn’t take her long to warm to a new person. Once you have built a relationship with Jessie she is very tactile and would do well in a quiet adult only home where she can learn to trust again. Jessie’s new owners will need to be able to commit to building a relationship with her here at the centre prior to adoption.Similar to people, Jessie can be worried of unfamiliar dogs and finds boisterous dogs very overwhelming. Jessie chooses to give herself space in these moments and will need an environment where she can enjoy walks without unknown dogs encroaching on her space. With time Jessie can build her confidence with other calm dogs and enjoy walks together but would need to be the only dog in the household. Jessie loves to snooze away in the sunshine and enjoys a comfy spot to curl up in.
