About Arnie

Arnie is a lively, bouncy boy who has really started to come out of his shell since arriving with us. As he settles and becomes more comfortable, his playful and affectionate personality is beginning to shine through. Arnie will need patient owners who are happy to give him the time he needs to build strong bonds and adjust to life in a new home.Because Arnie can feel a little unsure around new people and handling, he would be best suited to an adult-only household where life is calm and predictable. When he becomes overwhelmed he may nip at legs while people are walking past. This behaviour appears to stem from a mixture of excitement, seeking attention (he sometimes wants to be carried), and feeling unsure in busy situations. With patience, understanding and positive training, Arnie will continue to grow in confidence.Arnie has only recently started wearing a harness and learning to walk on a lead, so his new owners will need to build this up gradually and at his pace. He will also need support with basic training and house training as he settles into a home routine.A secure garden will be important so Arnie has a safe space to burn off energy and build confidence. Once he feels settled, he is likely to be an active and playful dog who will enjoy both exercise and mental stimulation.Arnie may be able to live with another calm, small dog of a similar size, as he has greeted a couple of dogs here on site without any problems. That said, he truly loves human company and forms strong bonds with his people once he feels safe.Arnie is looking for a calm, patient home that will give him the time, reassurance, and guidance he needs to continue growing in confidence. With the right support, he will become a loving, loyal companion full of personality and fun.
