Adopt Bruno

Dachshund · Male · Young · 3 years

Bruno is an almost 3 years old castrated male and a rather small Pinscher-Dackel mix ready to discover the rest of the world. With its 8 kg and approx. 30 cm, it is handy and agile. The muded treasure is very human-related, whether he knows people or not. He enjoys closeness to his references – a real lap dog who likes to be with him. Bruno also manages well with children, provided they deal with him with respect. He is in principle compatible with artisans, but shows a more senior behavior. He also manages with dog-experienced cats on his care center. Bruno brings a lot of potential, but he can still learn. He's fine at the leash, and he's already stubborn. He won his debut in the restaurant and this great weather in the ice cream parlour. Driving is not a problem for him at all. In dog company he remains alone for about 4 hours. With some loving guidance he will develop into a great family dog and loyal companion. For Bruno, we want active people who have the pleasure of working with him and showing him the beautiful sides of life. Whoever closes him into his heart and promotes him gets a loyal, loving and awakened, wise companion to his side. 🟢 Interest? Please fill out our self-examination:

🟢 Interesse? Bitte fülle unsere Selbstauskunft aus:

About Bruno

What life with Bruno looks like

Bruno is a small young adult dachshund dog waiting at Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bruno, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bruno?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bruno on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bruno if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bruno already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bruno isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bruno and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
