About Dart
we are unsure why our boy Dart hasn’t had much luck in finding a home… So here’s a little updated bio for him – 🐶I can potentially live with dogs Dart has now been with us for a year… He was returned to us after being with a family for 21 months after being born at our centre due to them having a child and him showing resource guarding behaviours. He has worked extremely hard on this with our behaviour team and has made huge improvements and continues to do so. He will need to attend training classes with his new family to help him transition into his home and build on his skills with them. When managed properly, you are likely to not see these behaviours . Dart is the most loving boy who is an absolute fan favourite with pretty much everyone he meets! Dart loves to make friends with new people and is always eager to go for a big walk with his pals. He socialises well with dogs and has been to many of our events and made lots of new friends during his stay with us- he has even been used as a ‘helper’ dog to boost some of our more nervous dogs confidences! He can sometimes react to dogs when on lead out of frustration and this is being worked on with him. He’s also an avid cafe visitor and likes to chill whilst you have a coffee! Dart is currently on foster and has shown to be a great companion in the home, he is very affectionate and likes to curl up on your lap or an armchair for some strokes. He has been left alone and has been great with this. He’d like a home with lurcher experienced adults only to help continue his training and settle back into home life Whilst being in our care, dart has unfortunately developed very mild hip dysplasia. This is currently managed well with anti inflammatory pain relief , however may need more hands on management in his later years .
