A tour through the municipal animal shelter once again ensured growth in the PLACE for STRAYS: Two very special females were able to move in with us: Polly and DeeDee. DeeDee is our new small challenge. She was one of the most difficult cases in the Municipal Canil – very anxious, completely insecure and with great mistrust to people. DeeDee has been living in the PLACE for STRAYS for several months now. It only makes very small but important progress. At the moment, she spends most of the time withdrawn in her hut and avoids both contact with people and other dogs. You are still very difficult to trust. At night, when rest comes, it begins to move gently. Training still means great stress for them, but first short walks are now possible. DeeDee will still need a lot of time, patience and understanding, but it has begun to go the first steps in the right direction. Ein Rundgang durch das städtische Tierheim sorgte wieder für Zuwachs im PLACE for STRAYS: Gleich zwei ganz besondere Hündinnen konnten bei uns einziehen: Polly und DeeDee. DeeDee ist unsere neue kleine Herausforderung. Sie war einer der schwierigsten Fälle im Municipal Canil – sehr ängstlich, völlig verunsichert und mit großem Misstrauen gegenüber Menschen. DeeDee lebt nun bereits seit einigen Monaten im PLACE for STRAYS. Sie macht nur sehr kleine, aber wichtige Fortschritte. Momentan verbringt sie die meiste Zeit zurückgezogen in ihrer Hütte und meidet sowohl den Kontakt zu Menschen als auch zu anderen Hunden. Vertrauen zu fassen fällt ihr noch sehr schwer. Nachts, wenn Ruhe einkehrt, beginnt sie sich vorsichtig zu bewegen. Training bedeutet für sie derzeit noch großen Stress, doch erste kurze Spaziergänge sind inzwischen möglich. DeeDee wird noch sehr viel Zeit, Geduld und Verständnis brauchen, aber sie hat begonnen, die ersten Schritte in die richtige Richtung zu gehen.
