17-04-26 Echo is a very sensitive and frightened girl who has come to us from a breeder. She will need a calm, understanding home where she can be given plenty of time and space to settle at her own pace. Due to her background, Echo is looking for an adult-only home with adopters who have experience with ex-breeding dogs and can gently guide her as she builds confidence. At the moment, Echo is unsure of human intentions and finds handling overwhelming, often choosing to shy away and keep her distance. She will need patient adopters who respect her boundaries and allow her to come to them when she feels ready. Echo takes great comfort from other dogs and relies on her kennel companions for reassurance. Because of this, she will need a kind, calm, and confident resident dog in her new home to help her feel safe and to show her the way as she adjusts to home life. Having never lived in a home before, Echo will need gentle support with all the basics, including house training. The outside world can feel very scary for her right now, so lead walking may be overwhelming initially. A secure garden where she can explore at her own pace and build confidence through quiet “sniffaris” would be the perfect starting point. Echo will need plenty of time, patience, and tender loving care, but in the right home, she will slowly begin to blossom and grow into a happier, more confident dog. On arrival, our vets noted that she had two large masses, they were both sampled and are believed to be fatty lumps and both have significantly reduced in size since sampling. Our vet is not concerned about these, but they will need to continue to be monitored by her adopter and their vet. Echo has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
